Vanessa and her family were the most incredible hosts I could have dreamed of. She has two of the cutest kids, who found crystals around the property and gave them to us upon arrival, and a kind husband who was hard at work improving their land, but still stopped by to greet us.

The cabin sits among giant redwood trees, and you can hear the rush of a creek just a few feet down. The space is simple and small, but clean and cute on the inside, which is exactly what we were looking for: still feels like camping, but with a little extra comfort. However, the cabin is entirely off-grid (no electricity) but they’ve wired some battery powered lights so you will at least have light and running water. Speaking of water, there is an awesome shower house a two minute walk from the cabin, and there is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (overlooking the most beautiful view!!). In addition, the kitchen offers a propane grill and burner along with a few spices, pots and pans, and dish ware. There’s also a charcoal grill available, which we used to grill several of our veggies down by the campfire. While we were there it was ok to have a small fire, but it depends on weather/season I believe. When fires are allowed, they’ve provided some stumps to sit on and a pretty sizable fire pit. The toilet situation is the best I can imagine for an outdoor toilet. It’s clean, not confusing, doesn’t smell weird, and even has some decor, which somehow helped trick me into not thinking about the fact that I was using an outhouse.

The inside space had two pull out beds (twin) and a pretty cushy leather sofa for sleeping, so it would be the perfect cabin for a small family. She also has plenty of children’s toys and books, space for meditating or playing, and amazing pour over coffee and teas for morning rituals. I’m already missing drinking my morning coffee on the little outdoor table overlooking the redwoods. Sigh.

Lastly, a little trail about 100 ft from the cabin leads down to the beautiful creek and there’s a tiny wood plank bridge you can walk across. The real winner for us was driving about 30 minutes to Yuba River and swimming in the crystal clear river with amazing white granite boulders. On the drive there is Nevada City which looks like a cool old gold miners town and they have AWESOME lunch spots there. I highly recommend. The cabin is SO close, and the river made us wish we stayed three or four more days. We had a blast.

Thanks again to our host Vanessa and her wonderful family! I would 100% recommend their cabin to anyone!

The most beautiful little cabin in the forest, yet so close to so many awesome sights! What an amazing place to spend the day, just a few minutes drive away! The perfect space to eat breakfast (or any meal)! There is a hot-water shower on site, and we were very thankful! It was so clean and had everything you could need.

I wanna start by saying this cabin is the new spot for myself and my hubby going forward. THE AMAZING SOUNDS OF THE CREEK DOWN BELOW AND the peaceful environment made his Fathers Day Gift/ marriage vowel renewal that I spent tons of time planning much more amazing. Despite the shower being next to the Host house and not near the cabin we were staying in everything was as described I was pleasantly surprised how awesome the coffee Tasted and I felt as though going up to shower We where invading there space THE host and her husband never made us feel unwelcome to shower being it was our first time ever doing anything like this and our phones where dead with spotty service I never felt sure when to go shower or have an alone time. THE HOST NEVER MADE IT UNCOMFORTABLE JUST BEWARE U MAY NOT HAVE A SEXY SHOWER TIME EXPERIENCE WITH KIDS OUTSIDE A FENCE THAT CAN BE SEEN THRU IF THEY WHERE ANYTHING LIKE MY BOYS THEY WOULD BE PEEKING THRU THE TINY CRACKS IN THE FENCE. However the host and family seemed to leave to allow a quiet shower I just felt like I was interrupting their household not because anything host did wrong. next time we book it and we WILL IT WAS AWESOME I will just prepare for the shower time better on my part and bring a good pair of washable shower shoes so to not get muddy feet walking down to cabin from the shower alone. The property and experience of cooking on the fire pit the creek sounds and everything else was a great time. I ALSO FEEL COMPELLED TO SAY OFF DOESNT WORK ITS A WASTE OF MONEY GET THE BURNING MOSQUITO COILS or you will become a buffet to those bloodsuckers.

Despite the fact that there was a fire ring and pit, NO camp fire was allowed. We found this out after asking the host if they have firewood to purchase. if the campfire was NOT allowed and advertised that way on the site, we were ok... but we chose this place since campfire was allowed. We were looking for a site that allows campfire, so that was a let down. NO #1 pee allowed at their toilet pit. Only # allowed. It is suggested to use anyplace for #1 under the tree in the middle of the night. Outdoor toilet has a glass see-through door so that was really weird. You will definitely need 4WD vehicle to access to the cabin even after a small rain. No trails to go the the stream, could not even find a animal path to go down to the creek. Need to bring all mosquito repellants, The site has no breeze and very muggy area. Cabin is overlooking a creek which was covered with wild life that you will not see where the creek is. Only a small trickling sound suggests there's are water running a bit further down.

We enjoyed out stay and the host, Vanessa, was super sweet and helpful! Cabin was a bit smaller than expected from the pictures, but we were still able to sleep 4 adults comfortably. Lost of provided supplies, so packing is light! Would definitely stay here again.

Vanessa is an amazing host. I'd honestly recommend this location to anyone that loves to be outdoors.

Her family is also amazing (two cute sons). If you ever need anything, she and her husband are there to help you no matter what. The hospitality they have for their guests is outstanding.

There is also a tiny creek right by the cabin where you can visit and relax. You have an outhouse and shower all relatively close to where you'll be sleeping. Would also like to add that the cabin has lights (no electrical outlet), a gas grill, an icebox, and even a sink for you to use.

5 stars all around. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to go camping and you're also not too far from the Yuba River.

Thanks again to Vanessa and her family.
