This was my first time staying at FlipJack Ranch and definitely will not be my last. Robin and David treated us like family from the moment we arrived. Their commitment to hospitality is unmatched in any BnB I have stayed at. My daughter and I really enjoyed learning from them about the history of the property and the ins and outs of owning a farm. The farm to table meals are incredible and Robin's experience in the restaurant business is evident in the creative and delicious dishes she prepares for guests. Each morning starts with a fresh tray of coffee/tea and pastries delivered to your room. The property is set amid beautiful redwoods and while it's not far from worthwhile places to visit (Beauregard Vineyards, Bonny Doon Beach, Henry Cowell Redwood Park), you'll have a hard time finding a reason to leave this serene mountain abode.
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at FlipJack Ranch! It's a gorgeous place. We had so much fun walking around the farm and getting to know all the animals (particularly the two adorable baby sheep!). We also loved being so near to many beautiful hikes and beaches.
Robin and David are wonderful, welcoming hosts. Robin also prepared us delicious and memorable breakfasts. Between the two of us, my girlfriend and I have a number of dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free), but Robin worked around all these restrictions to come up with fresh, delicious meals with ingredients from the farm. She even included gluten-free cookies on the coffee and tea tray that she left for us in the morning!
We loved our experience, and hope to be back soon!
I wish everyone had a chance to experience this place! Robin, the host, is so welcoming and accommodating of my large group. The setting is forest-y, farm-y, and just magical! You can wander the ranch and meet some goats or take an easy drive to some awesome hiking trails. There is also a pool, hot tub, and great campfire area to enjoy when you want to unwind. BONUS - Breakfast here is amazing and comes with the rooms. I also paid for the farm to table dinner and this was one of the best eating experiences I've had (and I looove to eat!). Everything tastes fresh and is clearly made with love! Thanks Robin and David for a great getaway!
This place was amazing, truly a little hideaway in the woods. We explored, we slept, we cuddled by the fire and watched a movie in the rain, we squealed at the turkeys, we bounced in the Redwoods. This place is magical.
Our stay at FlipJack Ranch was perfectly relaxing. The hot jacuzzi under the rain definitely made our weekend!
We indeed escaped San Francisco during a very rainy weekend and this place made us feel very comfy—in between rusticity and luxury. A bottle of wine, little chocolates were waiting for us in the cozy room, already nice and warm thanks to Robin who had lighted the wood-burning stove for us already. We really enjoyed the breakfast both mornings. Not only is Robin very nice, she is also a seriously good cook.
The giant redwoods of Henri Cowell State Park are a short drive away. Enough said, I'd totally recommend Flipjack Ranch for a comfortable Bed and Breakfast experience in nature.
This place is amazing. The room is big, comfortable and feels like you're living in an earlier, more rustic time. You wake up every morning to the sounds of farm animals and the smell of bacon and coffee coming from the kitchen. The breakfasts were filling and delicious and the hosts are lovely people to chat to. Just go!
Robin was very welcoming upon our arrival. It was very nice talking to her about the history of the ranch and organic farming.
The room was both cozy and spacious. The wake-up tray was a nice touch, and breakfast each morning was delicious. I fell in love with the scones fresh from the oven the first morning. It was difficult having to politely share with the other guests. :)
We look forward to coming back- especially because we forgot to buy some of the homemade jams before we left.
