I came here with a group of 9 Girl Scouts (9-10 year olds) and they had the BEST time ever. I will definitely come back with my family & could easily imagine coming for a weekend, or even a week.
Pros:
- Kids have the opportunity to interact with animals (feed the goats & chickens, hold the bunny, pet the goats and sheep, watch the pig & horses...) as well as learn from the farm work (the girls watched the goats being milked everyday, and were taught about the how, what & why (not hands on) , and even got to taste fresh goats milk.
This farm is supported by Woofers and also serves as an incubator for new farmers - there is a large focus on teaching which makes any stay all the more interactive.
- Kids had the opportunity to run around the vineyards and look for owl pellets, taste the grapes, go for long walks, play flashlight tag in the night...
- There was a real kitchen & bathrooms - so from a practical perspective, this was more glamping than camping!
- The pool was made available to us - so since the weather was so hot this weekend, they spent a good amount of time in the water
- We had asked for the girls to be put to work, and Allie organised for the girls to make some signs for the farm, which where put up that same day. They were given the opportunity to leave their mark!
- The mission and story of this farm is inspiring - I recommend checking it out!
Con:
- You can hear the road from the tent site.
Overall an absolute winner - We were warmly welcomed, and everyone of the 9 girls that came asked to come again. The parent chaperones also talked about coming again with their families.
