Feisty Dog Orchard
Great place to camp right off the Avenue of the Giants -highly recommend staying here!
Matt is a friendly, helpful, and welcoming host, we were even lucky enough to get a guided tour of all the different varieties of apples on the orchard. While there are neighbors, camping amongst the apple trees made it feel secluded and peaceful. Great amenities too - gas grill and sink with running water made dinner easy.

Feisty Dog Orchard
We loved our stay at feisty dog! Although we were limited to one night of stay, it made for a super relaxing and welcoming tent spot with our dog. Would definitely return some day!

Amazing Except for
Mattâs orchard was a super sweet spot to camp out. Matt wasnât there but his friend Betty was and she was very hospitable and answered all of my questions about the plants that are growing on the property. The apples and homegrown food that was offered to us were delicious!!! Only thing I was a little bummed about is that the river had a lot of algae and I was warned prior by friends about the river algae so I didnât go swimming in it even though it was one of the main reasons I chose the site. (It was stunning nonetheless, I just didnât get into the water) However, even with that disappointment, I would definitely stay at the site again. Itâs super close to a lot of must sees.

We enjoyed Matt's orchard. Loved the apple trees and the nearby river. The redwoods were majestic. All around good experience.

Pretty Location
The location is nice as it's near the Avenue of the Giants which is pretty incredible to pass through. It's def got a rural vibe. The orchard is pretty and quaint. You park near the port-o-potty close to the road and then Matt's (the owner) trailer is to the left of the potty -- you may not think it is where you should go but it is and he can tell you where to camp and what to do ...........We didn't know where to go or where to find Matt initially but asked some other campers and they told us.
The orchard is full of tall grass between sites so you have privacy. The roots from the apple trees are something I hadn't thought about but did think about a lot while trying to sleep at the site - I would suggest bringing an air mattress to achieve a full nights sleep.
The air and the sound of the night are so calming. There is a river at the end of the road that is breathtaking - I think it might be called the Eel River - amazing to see.
