The vibe at Hexayurt Glamping @ the Dome Asylum

This site is an amazing little oasis. The property offers so much, and the yurt is a perfect sleeping setup. We spent most of our time in enjoying the sun and the natural swimming pool - being able to swim with the fish is a blast! There's plenty of places to relax and enjoy the weather, as well as a barbecue and sound system. There's also plenty of assorted sculptures and other art around the property! The site is a short drive from town, where there's an abundance of cool little shops. We really enjoyed Packards Coffee Shop, as well as an amazing Thai restaurant down the road. I would make sure to enjoy the afternoon sun swimming with the fish if you visit.
Loved the atmosphere of Dome Asylum! It feels like staying at your aunt's house... If your aunt was a cool hippy with better taste than you.
We shared the space one night with an adult nudist family from the UK (yes, Dome Asylum is clothing optional). The other night I was there, my girlfriend and I were the only guests!
I particularly enjoyed the pool area. We chilled out around the fire pit (lots of free wood at the Asylum) and in the natural hot tub while listening to smooth jazz from my Spotify on the pools blue tooth system.
Had a couple problems with the yurt though. It's not sealed like a commercial tent is, so expect some bugs and spiders to join you in the night. My girlfriend had no less than five bug bites, while I escaped unscathed. Consider staying in the house or bringing a tent instead of renting the yurt.
Another problem is the rooster on property. It starts crowing around 4:00 am and it will wake you up. Wiley let's it out around 6:00 am, and it will crow even closer to the yurt as it walks around. You can hear everything through the thin walls of the yurt, so don't plan on sleeping in.
