The Dog Woods cabin is located alongside a beautiful creek and is great for those seeking a private getaway.
The host is very communicative, kind, and accommodating to our last minute change of plans.
The feedback I'll give is that the inside of the cabin is a bit cramped with things and could use some tidying up.
A beautiful location and a lovely place. One important thing of note, if you need soft bed's to sleep, give this place a pass, the beds are VERY VERY firm. Even the air mattresses (somehow? I didn't even know this was possible). I ended up having to sleep on the couch. On the other hand, if you prefer firm beds you'll love it!
We loved Dog Woods Cabin! From the Willie Nelson painting hanging above the wood burning stove to the Grateful Dead phone and inviting living room furniture, every little detail was cozy, eclectic & fun. The whole vibe was exactly what we were looking for. It felt like I were staying at a friends or family members cabin - it truly felt like home for the weekend and I can’t wait to come back.
My friends and I absolutely loved this place. It was right up our alley. Very private. The retro/vintage vibe matched our personalities really well. The outside deck made for a great place to breathe in the fresh air, while the many amenities inside made for a convenient stay. Lots of sleeping spaces, which was great. And the upstairs bathroom was clutch. I give this place a big thumbs up. The communication and directions was very helpful as well. Would definitely return, and just might do that!
Couple things I think would be helpful for others to know, which by all means did not detract from our stay, just worth mentioning.
1. There was a lot of sap to walk thru to get from cars to house so my advice is bring a pair of flip flops or something so you don't track in the house and end up all sticky. And a windshield cover if you wanna leave with a clean car:)
2. As others have mentioned, most of the beds are really firm. So if you prefer soft, could be helpful to pack a mattress topper.
Bottom line: Thumbs way up!
