Dipper Camp, outside of NC
Loved this place. Almost don’t want to write a review because I don’t want it to become too popular and hard to book! Great for friends, families, and kiddos too. We will be back next year!

Wow, this place is a gem. My friends and I had the most incredible time here. Jason was amazing and showed us around the campsite when we arrived. And it was beyond any of our expectations. The site is huge, private, and right next to the Deer Creek (so you get to fall asleep to the sound of the river). Even though it is a campsite, it felt luxurious and had everything we needed. There were so many thoughtful details (beautiful rugs, bath towels, lanterns in each tent, comfortable bedding, solar-powered lights that went on at night, etc) and it is obvious how much they care about the campers' experience. I loved the private bath area (with a shower and a tub!) and the toilet with a view. This campsite is perfect for larger groups. There are lots of activities and so many different spaces for relaxing. It's also a 5-minute walk to a bridge and swimming hole, as well as a 20-minute drive to some of my favorite Yuba River swimming holes. I will most definitely be coming back!

Dipper camp was everything I thought it would be and more! The space was beautiful, the tents are spaced out generously, the beds were comfortable and it honestly felt like having a hotel room. I live in the city and have a tiny apartment and though I'd love to keep all of my own camping and other outdoor gear, I literally have no place to store it. Renting this campsite was the perfect solution and also made the whole weekend a lot more relaxing, not having to pack up and set up and take down everything and pack up again, we just had to bring food, that's it! The creek was wonderful, only like a 10 foot walk from the main camp area, cold water which was great because it was hot out, we had fun swimming and fishing for trout, floating down river on tubes provided by Jason, also chilling watermelons and beer in the cold water! The outhouse has an opening top half of the front wall so that you can look out at the water while you use it, it feels like you are outside while using the convenience of composting plumbing!
We really had a spectacular time and will be back soon. Next time I want to camp in this area I will not be looking elsewhere!! Thank you, Jason!!

Jason and Steve created a little paradise directly by the creek with everything you need -hot and cold running water, an idyllic shower, toilet with a view, fireplace and a lot of hammocks. The tents are in a good distance to get some privacy and the beds are comfortable. It’s camping on the highest standard and the hosts are super nice and helpful! We would definitely come back!
