Off-the-grid camping on tent platforms or ground space, with solar showers, some drinking water (bring your own) a water tower for washing up, and great cellular data service, Perfect for festival season and just a couple miles away from festival venues. Tent or van camping in a groovy, relaxing, off-the-grid rural mountain desert retreat! Parking for 1 vehicle per camp area, and plenty of parking outside the fence for additional vehicles. Great for solo, couples, family and group camping. Drive 2 miles down a well-maintained dirt road, unlock the double gates, drive in to unload, and to chillax under the most beautiful view of the stars in Joshua Tree, at the base of Copper Mountain. 5 acres of beauty and privacy, at elevation 2800+ which gives you a wonderful panoramic view of the lights of the city at night. Great hiking to a firepit at the top of the mountain, mountain climbing, see the cave, or sit by your campfire after a busy day. Tent Platform 1 is 10 ftx 10ft - comfortable wood planks, and has a wind break fence on two sides to shield you from the winds and keep you cozy. Parking is in front of your tent platform. All tent platforms are inside a fenced area. If you have extra people, consider also renting the sandy Tent Space on Land next to this Platform. Community area includes a shade area with seating and extra chairs and table, community picnic table, a cafe table and chairs, your own firepit, a community BBQ grill, access to the water tower (NOT potable), some drinking water, a porta potty, composting toilet and outdoor solar showers. Be sure to bring your own water, cooler, lighting and firewood, or you can buy wood from my neighbor Scott. Joshua Tree Lae, RV and Campground is just 2 miles away, and Joshua Tree main street is 8 miles away, where you will find food and drink at Joshua Tree Saloon, breakfast at Country Kitchen or Natural Sisters Cafe, Crossroads Cafe or pizza at Pie for the People; grocery stores and Walmart, Marshall's, Petco and Home Depot, yoga studio and coffee shop. There's a corner general store store less than 2 miles away (Yucca Mesa at Aberdeen) and Landers Brew Pub and Pioneertown are about 10 miles away. Honor the mountains and the desert by hauling out your trash, and  honor the neighbors by keeping quiet at night, after 10pm. Joshua Tree National Park is about 6 miles away and offers climbing tours, horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking trails along Ryan Mountain, Split Rock, Trashcan Rock.  Things to do in the area: visit the Wall Street Mill, Johnny Lang Grave, Fortynine Palms Oasis, Skull Rock, Keys Ranch, or see a concert at Landers Brewery Pub, Joshua Tree Saloon, Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown. Take a scenic drive to Barker Dam, Jumbo Rocks, Desert Queen Mine, Geology Tour Road, Simi Dabah Sculpture Foundation, The World Famous Crochet Museum, and more.

Great spot to check out Joshua Tree. Only 15 minutes from The Joshua Tree entrance. Tent platforms were great for getting your tent off the rocks and sand. Would definitely come back for another visit to Joshua Tree.

Such a fun trip! I rented out all of the tent sites plus George the RV for an annual family trip which we hope to do again next year. The hills just behind you are fun for the kiddos to scramble around on and the drive to the National Park is only about 20 minutes away. The platforms are an great feature to keep your tent elevated. Although I think George could use a little TLC.
