As I drove the dirt road to Desert Daisy I was so focused on getting to the right address that I didn't notice the beautiful views that awaited me. Higher in elevation than most of the town of Joshua Tree, Desert Daisy overlooks the wide valley and the mountains of Joshua Tree National Park. Host Judy constructed new tent platforms with fire rings around the edges of a rock labyrinth. Also available for rent on the property is Georgie, a fully furnished camper. The sunset views are spectacular. I built a fire and watched the lights of Joshua Tree flicker to life in the distance. In the morning I walked the labyrinth at sunrise before hiking up the hill behind the campsites for a birds eye view. Desert Daisy is a cool, eclectic property.
I am hesitant to write this review because part of me would like to keep this secret to myself. This is a great place to camp. Beautiful sky, mountains and scenery in a very private spot close to Joshua Tree. There are 3 nice tent platforms each with a fire pit. There is also a water tank, picnic table and a composting toilet. The site is nestled at the base of a rocky ridge and if you climb to it's highest point, there is an awesome fire pit with 360 degree views of the valley. The host, Judy, is awesome. We stayed here because we could not find a campsite inside the park, but next time I will not waste my time looking for campsites inside the park.
Judy was very accommodating and the space was very nice. There is a nice little hike behind the camping space that gives a great 360 degree view of the area. Very close to Joshua Tree as well. We would definitely book again.
Very nice place, secluded, clean and quiet. Stars looked amazing at night! It’s close to the JT park. I wish I would’ve arrived at daylight for setting up the shower. Communicating with Host was vey efficient during my stay.
I would stay there again!
We had an amazing time at Judy's camp site.
Pros: Judy and her nephew are helpful, prompt and friendly. They provide more than enough amenities to make roughing it a little easier. We didn't get a chance to hike to the top where they have a fire pit but we will definitely be rebooking.
Cons: None that come to mind.
Thank you Judy!
Great views, quiet space and close to Joshua tree. There was a bathroom, water, and a nice platform so you don't have to sleep on rocks. There are multiple campsites which I was not expecting but they were far enough apart to not feel crowded.
