Great spot to check out Joshua Tree. Only 15 minutes from The Joshua Tree entrance. Tent platforms were great for getting your tent off the rocks and sand. Would definitely come back for another visit to Joshua Tree.
Such a fun trip! I rented out all of the tent sites plus George the RV for an annual family trip which we hope to do again next year. The hills just behind you are fun for the kiddos to scramble around on and the drive to the National Park is only about 20 minutes away. The platforms are an great feature to keep your tent elevated. Although I think George could use a little TLC.
The instructions were clear, the campsite was exactly as described and photographed, and the nearby mountain was a great quick morning hike!
we also stargazed because the view of the night sky is AMAZING. definitely bring binoculars! Great night overall :)
Hard to find even with the directions, you can barely tell where you are supposed to drive through the brush, I'm glad we got there before the sun went down. The sites are poorly labelled, specifically site #5. The flush toilet was nice, but needs some sort of other door covering. The shower curtain worked when it wasn't windy, but at 2 am when the wind was gusting that curtain was flying in the air. Overall the place was tidy, just very small. I wouldn't not stay there if I was in the area again.
Tent platform 1 was good. However, there was another party on the platform when I arrived. When reviewing their booking confirmation at 11:00 PM, it was easy to see how the other party misidentified the site. I slept in their site and we ended up trading sites the next day. The other drawback to the area was that the majority of the sites were not that level. Still, it was nice to have running water, tables, and a safe area to camp.
