Words cannot describe how unbelievable our weekend was. If you are familiar with the area the property is about 1.5 hrs from Oaji. We were coming from LA so we took the 5. Total trip took about 2 hours. We took myself , my wife and some of our friends. We had 8 people 2 cars and 1 RV. Some people had tents. We were greeted by Ricky upon arrival. They gave us a care package with some necessities like silverware and plates and cups and a water jug. We selected the party site which is located at the bottom of the property. The site came with a a full deck to put all of our things on as well as huge fire pit and extension chords for our phones and coolers and such. There isn’t an RV hookup which is fine but they have an outhouse with a compost toilet and an attached tankless water heater to shower. It was a little chilly but during the day it wasn’t to bad to shower once the sun was up. As a group we selected the canyon tour and it was gorgeous!!!!! Ricky took us through the canyons and showed us everything the valley has to offer. We also selected the bundle of firewood which was waiting for us when we arrived. We will definitely be back again in smaller groups since the property has many different types of options for camping and such . Thanks Guys !!!!

The property is gorgeous!Met Basil!awesome care package . Salt, pepper , plates , water ,water jug, basic utensilssunset

We arrived at this hipcamp about 2 PM on Friday check in was after one. When we got there Nathan and the potbelly pig BASIL were ready to greet us with a smile. After the initial pleasantries Nathan showed us where to park and where to set up our tents and what to do and what not to do after that we got settled and walked around a little bit and got explore the property we elected to do the canyon tour and let me tell you it was worth every penny!!!!! It was $25 for 30 minutes and Ricky and Nathan showed us through the canyons and it was amazing after the first day we explored town a little bit went to Santa Maria for some wine tasting we came back Saturday night to rest our heads it was a perfect holiday weekend. The rest of the time we spent exploring the town and getting to know our host. We were able to let our animals run free which was awesome! I would book this campsite again in a heartbeat and I saw that they have other sites on the property for smaller groups so I will be back with my wife! Thanks again guys!

Our group of 10 had an absolutely beautiful stay here.
The center camp glamp site is very comfortable, with running well water, sink, outhouse, shower, electric outlet + lights, and a huge fire ring. Nathan was a wonderful host, making us feel welcome and comfortable. He was very responsive and kind in all of my pre-camping texts, helpful to clarify a few things since COVID had changed what he could and could not provide. Pro tip: BYO biodegradable soap (Dr Bronners or other) since sink/shower drain into the land (and COVID prevents host from providing) and BYO propane for grill.

There are piglets. They put themselves under a blanket at night. You can feed them. Did I mention they put themselves under a blanket.

The goats are adorable. Basil is adorable. The fowl are adorable. Some of the fowl are noisy at night, but it’s all part of staying on a ranch. All other campsites on the property are farther from the animals and therefore quieter, but they do not feature on-demand pigs in a blanket.

We enjoyed a very special stay in a very special place. Like another reviewer said, “if you don’t stay here, you’re dumb.”

Nate and Ricky are great hosts! From arrival to departure they made us feel welcome and comfortable the whole time. We absolutely loved exploring the property and all the fun animals onsite. Basil the pig, the little piglets, the little goats and chickens all left a big impression with our group. Even though we just left, we are already in the planning stages of booking a spot again. Thanks for the wonderful peaceful weekend

Cuyama Oaks is truly the best campsite I have ever been to. The drive out there is beautiful, each campsite has its own rustic outhouse and honey decorations... and the view!! It’s 360 degrees of gorgeousness.

Our hosts Nate and Ricky were super accommodating and friendly. They have a menagerie of animals that they allow their guests to visit with which was a hit with my 9 year old daughter. We can’t wait to go back!

4 of us stayed at Cuyama Oaks for my birthday this past weekend. Ricky and Nate were nothing but kind, fun, and helpful throughout our stay. They gave us our space, but were more than willing to chat for a minute about the area and the animals. They let the kids come down at night to feed the little piglets(!) and learn about the new goats that had just been brought to the ranch.

On our campsite we had everything from a shower, to utensils and A LOT of hand sanitizer/cleaning wipes. I so appreciated the effort they put in to making us feel safe and comfortable during this time.

The bathrooms were clean and easy to access. And had more hand sanitizer and toilet paper!

Aside from the amenities, the views and hikes were amazing. There are a few easy to moderate hikes just a short walk from our site. Right at sunset the fog rolled in over the clouds as we came back from our hike. We all just kind of stood there and watched the beauty pass through. On a clear night you can even see many constellations even with the fire going.

Ricky and Nate have built a little oasis that we will frequent for time to come. We can wait to see all the piglets all grown up!

Such an amazing experience that now I want to buy some land and start my own ranch. I'm recommending to my friends who come through LA.

What's amazing about this place is that you get a great balance of camping and glamping. You get the stars and the desert and the tent-camping, but you can poop and shower and grill, too.

Nate and Ricky are extremely helpful and attentive. They truly care about you and their ranch. The petting zoo puts things on another level.

It gets hot in the summer but not nearly as bad as you think. It's dry with a nice breeze so the sticker temperature can be a little misleading. But bring a spray bottle and plenty of ice. If you don't like hot tents in the morning then bring a shade structure.

The roosters and goats make some noise in the morning but I was only woken up by it on the first day and I'm a light sleeper. Consider ear plugs if you want to sleep in.
