Camp by the creek
Fantastic camping!
A really magical hipcamp. Strephen greeted us soon after we pulled up and gave us a quick tour of where best to set up near some large trees. We had a magical evening in the nature, felt like our own secret garden. Very private with a creek flowing nearby.
A full bathroom is accessible to campers and a sink for cleaning dishes if needed.
Highly recommended spot!

down to earth and beautiful!
Such a beautiful, relaxing spot and to top it off Steve is a true gem. Camped out under two ancient black oaks, you can stargaze, listen to the creek flow just below you, and enjoy Steve's beautiful garden that's buzzing with life.. you may even get to snack on some of the plums too! As a solo female camper I felt extremely safe which isn't always the case, so I really appreciated how kind and welcoming he was. I camped here both on my way up to and back from a road trip because I loved the spot so much. I recommend hopping around on the rocks in the creek at sunset and watching the bats come out for their nightly activities. And enjoying a swim during the daytime is a must. Thank you so much Steve! đ¤

Lovely Spot
We stopped here for one night on our road trip and it was a perfect little oasis. Stephen was very friendly and welcoming. There is a little trail down to the creek- a gorgeous spot to zen out for a little. We really enjoyed our stay.

Camping By the Creek
Camping on Stephen's property near Bella Vista, CA could not have been more enjoyable! Coming from Burney Falls, it was a gorgeous drive through the forests of the area, and I arrived just in time to get my camp set up before the sun set. Stephen has a beautiful yard next to his house with a big grassy patch that was big enough for a 6-person tent, and a picnic table & chairs are provided. This patch is very nicely shaded by some massive trees. I also had access to the bottom level of Stephen's house, which included full bathroom where I could shower, and a laundry room w/ mini fridge & sink where I could store food & clean dishes. Plan to bring a camping stove of some sort if you plan to cook, as no means of cooking is provided, and fires are not allowed (understandable given the hot weather during the summer!) Stephen also has Wifi which reaches all around the property which was great as cell service was sparse.
A short walk from the camping area is access to the creek that runs behind Stephen's home. On the small beach area there are two chairs so you can sit and enjoy the babbling sounds of the stream, which was still running strong during my visit. Another nice touch is the wild plum tree which I picked and ate from aplenty, and there are lots of wild blackberry bushes near the camping area that I also sampled. There's an apple tree on site as well, but they were not ripe yet.
I really enjoyed chatting with Stephen during my stay as well, he's a great host!

Camping outside of Redding
Stephen has a great little spot next to a creek and under some big oak trees. There is access to a bathroom and shower which is a bonus. There is a table and chairs there that are useful for cooking and hanging out. He has a cart for moving items from the car to the campsite which is less than 100 feet away. There were some delicious blackberries to eat off the bushes and Stephen was a really great host. We encountered a fair amount of mosquitos around sunset time, but other than that, the spot was perfect.
