The vibe at Copper Mountain Ranch
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Copper Mountain Ranch is great place a gather up a group of friends and romp out to the desert. Situated just north of the 'Indian Cove' entrance of Joshua Tree NP it is the perfect center point of all the awe-inspiring things to do out in the desert. An added bonus to this camp site is that they include a complimentary bundle of wood for your first fire! Also, there are great little hiking trails surrounding the area, so if you don't feel like driving anywhere there are things to do right there at the site. To top it all off, you can go say hi to the beautiful horses on the ranch, and the friendly camp hosts make you feel welcome right from the start.
Copper Mountain Ranch was great. Stayed with my brother for a night and it was as described in the listing. And it was even better how the area is pretty flat and level for your tent and sleeping. The location is good, we didn't hear any of what little noise there could be from Highway 62 and of course you see so many stars as long as the weather's clear. Cary was really friendly and helpful, he gave us great suggestion of the Indian Cove entrance for Joshua Tree National Park that a short drive almost straight line away from the campground and there was got to do plenty of scrambling in the Rattlesnake Canyon area he recommended there.
I highly recommend this place for people who'll go to Joahua Tree National Park on last minutes or even if it's well planned as all campground can get crowded during peak season you can reserve here and talk to Cary and Patty which are very nice people and communicate well with you with all your questions and concern. They really have clean porta-potty and it's smells good. Coz for me I'don't use them, really but this one I used. You'll have a wide angle of view to see the stars as it is an open area.
Me and my sister had a great stay at Copper Mountain Ranch on a last minute trip to the desert. Cary was very responsive to the booking and helping us work out the details of brining a dog along, and we arrived to find a clean campsite and a warm welcome from the hosts. The restroom was clean and the water was easy to access, and though it was not far from the beaten path we were treated to a pristine night sky by the fire pit (the firewood was also provided at no cost). Would definitely consider staying here again.
Great place to set up camp with a group of friends. The host was very generous and gave us lots of firewood to burn. It's only about a 15 minute drive to the main entrance of Joshua Tree, but it's also even closer to Indain Cove which is a great place to experience the beautiful boulders of Joshua Tree without paying an entrance fee. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Cary's super nice. We loved the perk of the free firewood on the first night and the port-a-potty was clean and well-maintained. Close to the Indian Cove entrance. Would totally recommend and return.
Copper Mountain Ranch is easy to access from Joshua Tree. It is a simple camping experience with all the amenities you might need, i.e. water, fire pit, toilet and table. An added bonus was the free firewood out host Cary provided and the great views of the surrounding desert and access to hiking on BLM land directly from the site.
