Wake up in the fragrant forests of West Marin county and unwind on our lush land with original 1930's to 1970's back to the land dwellings. Take calming walks to the local farm stand in our village, and explore the abundant wild nature of Pt Reyes National Seashore, a true gem of nature within driving, bussing, or bicycling distance. We have 2 redwood stateparks within a 5 min drive, and both Pacific Ocean and Tomales bay ( swim! kayak!) beaches 30 minutes by car. We'll be glad to help you find the dogfriendly ones for your dog companion to swim and fetch sticks and splash around and roll around in sand for a true dog holiday!
The Tree house is one of four dwellings that are within close proximity of eachother, but strewn over different levels of the hillside, so have a private visual and audio feel...trees and bushes provide that.
We have a forest with creek (minimal in summer but still water!) right out of the door... she is our neighbor! It is a conservation easement, so not hike-able, also due to the terrain being steep, but it is great for forest bathing in the first few 100 feet of useable trail, where pretty soon you don't see or hear or feel civilization.
Inside the freestanding, 2 storie treehouse, the upstairs has a queen futon bed, and downstairs has two single mattresses stacked. Both have a comforter and cushions. Linens can be provided at an extra charge (choose this during checkout) or please bring your own. The treehouse has its own full, though small, kitchen with basic cookware ( please no meats!) and bathroom/shower.. Wifi and cell reception are great.
The downstairs has its own little sunporch with view, and the upstairs a little bridge leading into shared sitting area and forest. Both can be barricaded off for your dogperson friend to enjoy.
Our forest immerson' bedroom in the 1976 rustic farmhouse is nearby.
Generally the land is a mellow retreat space and a place to relax from abundant nature hikes of all sorts of terrain and climate, or a very nice place to telecommute and zoom from!
Listing can hold up to 4 people, but this is mainly intended for groups just looking for a place to stay the night, as the square footage wouldn't allow for a comfortable environment to spend a lot of time in with more than 2 people.

Fun, unique stay
The tree house was great! It had everything we needed to cook a simple dinner and relax. The other units on the property are closer together than I thought but there is enough privacy to feel secluded. The loft has a beautiful, large window that looks into the trees.
Sweet, rustic cabin retreat
Saskia's tree house cabin and property were exactly what I needed for a retreat in nature this weekend. It was rustic, simple, and yet lush with the surrounding forest. There are communal areas near the cabin, shared with other cabins, and I was lucky enough to have the place to myself.
The location is perfect for exploring West Marin. Saskia knows all the forests and beaches to visit, bakeries and farmer's market days in Point Reyes Station, and she gave me lots of ideas for how to spend the day. I was able to hike and chill in Point Reyes Station, Millerton Point, and Lagunitas Creek, and be home in time to witness a gorgeous sunset sky from the cabin's porch.
I recommend having patience and respect for Saskia's directions. The road to the property is tricky and requires instruction the first time so as not to drive into other properties. Once you've been here once, it's easy to find again. I'd love to come back!
It was wonderful to wake up in a beautiful forest cabin! The cabin was very cozy and hygge. It was a little harder to get to than I expected... But Saskia did her best to help us find it.
Beautiful and peaceful
Saskia was so nice! We had some great conversations and the tree house was beautiful and so peaceful. amazing views and had everything we needed! only recommendation would be to bring your own sheets as well as blankets as the blankets provided weren’t the best and the bathroom is pretty small. also- you have to carry your own trash out so make sure to bring a couple trash bags! Overall a really nice night and very peaceful and quiet.
Beautiful space with lots of windows tucked into the trees. There is a trail behind the property that follows a stream into the woods. Recommend this as a solo getaway or for two. It is close to Point Reyes and super easy to get out to trails. Saskia is super responsive and has a great life story to share!
This little getaway is sweet and the love that Saskia brings to the place and to your experience is the cherry on top! She helped direct me from Fairfax, showed me the local parks and cafes and restaurants and was a very caring and present host. The cabin has everything you’d need to just be in the woods and relax. And the quiet, the darkness and the stars are also a win.
