The 'Tumbleweed Hotel' is a 23 foot camper with dinette slide out (extra floor space). There is also an attached deck with canopy and small fenced yard. There is morning sun (when we have 'morning sun'; 'morning fog' is our norm) and afternoon shade. During the day you can watch wildlife and the horses in the pasture. At night it is quiet and peaceful and stars abound. It feels like you are way out in the country but you are only 5 minutes from the highway, 15 minutes from beaches and two exits from grocery stores and restaurants including the BEST sushi in the area.

Want to cook for yourself? No problem: the camper is fully equipped with utensils, fridge and freezer, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker etc. We also provide some breakfast foods which are included in the cost of your reservation.

The camper is accessed by a staircase with three steep steps. There is a small kitchen, dinette, couch, storage, bathroom with shower, separate bedroom area, deck and small fenced yard. The dinette and couch convert to single beds.

The bedroom has a brand new full mattress. Please note that this is not a double bed it is a full size bed which is slightly smaller than a double. Guests have commented that it was small for two people. It does have bedding for two plus more than sufficient bedding for the couch and dinette conversions. Worn carpet and upholstery. No smoking indoors.

Mr. T (your accommodating commode aka toilet) is a travel trailer/camper/RV toilet. To learn how to properly communicate with him please go to You Tube and search for ' The RV "Toilet Talk" .' If you encounter a conflict with Mr. T, don't be embarrassed. Merely inform your hosts who will deal promptly with it and set him on the right path.

The camper/RV is comfortable for two or three adults or two adults with two children. Additional campers must provide their own tent which you may put up on the deck next to the camper. Camping outside of the deck or small fenced yard is NOT available. There is room for ONLY one tent on flat ground.

This is a very safe place to stay, behind a gated entry and situated close to other RV campers (when they are in residence) and to the host home. Although you are right across the driveway from our house the view from your deck is of a rural valley and feels very private.

Please note that we firmly believe that children are people too. All children must be registered campers! We do not charge an additional guest fee for infants in arms but other than that, we require that you register and pay for each adult or child in your party.

This is a nonprofit horse ranch. There are many dogs and horses on the property. In the daytime expect some tractor noise and barking dogs. We try to keep the dogs very quiet between 9 or 10 pm and 7 am. Nighttime here is usually serene with the songs of crickets and frogs in the background. On Friday nights the local dirt races do provide a hum in the distance, which most guests do not find intrusive. Sometimes the coyotes sing to each other up and down our valley.

Bunnies, quail, hummingbirds, songbirds, deer, an occasional coyote or bobcat , the goats next door, our many horses and tame sweet mini donkey, and a glimpse of the bison across the valley add to the rural ambiance. There are only short walks from the property, up the private (paved) road or around our twelve acres, but numerous other hiking trails are only a 15 to 30 minute drive away. Beaches, ziplining, skydiving, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, the Monterey Aquarium, restaurants, museums, etc abound in our area. Horseback riding is available by reservation at Mount Madonna Stables about 20 minutes drive away. (Madonna Stables is not affiliated with City Limits Ranch.)

No open fires. A gas grill is available nearby.

No loud music. Acoustic music is permitted. Quiet time starts at 10 pm.

Smoking OUTDOORS only. No marijuana, no illegal drug use, no underage use of alcohol. Responsible adult use of alcohol is fine with us.

Pets are permitted with prior notification. Dogs on leash. Please DO NOT show up with your dog(s) without prior notification to the hosts. You will not be permitted to leave your dog alone on the property unless you provide a secure kennel or crate and he remains quietly. The yard next to the trailer is NOT secure for an unattended dog. If your dog is not crate trained please don't plan to start crate training him here.

Additional visitors are permitted ONLY with advance notice to your hosts. You must meet your visitors at the main gate and escort them to and from your camper. Visitors or your own minor children may not remain on the property in the absence of the registered guest(s). No additional overnight visitors are permitted. All overnight campers must be registered guests. All overnight vehicles must be registered at check-in.

We loved the Tumbleweed Hotel! The camper had everything we needed: cozy, easy and comfortable. We brought a few apples and fed them to the horses before dinner and in the morning. Such a treat! Kids and I can't wait to go back!!
