We were lucky enough to be the first guests in the cabin and wow! First off, the property is absolutely immaculate and so serene. Down a dirt drive, we found the campsite. The cabin sits a bit away from the tent/RV sites, giving more privacy. The cabin itself is beautiful, the bed is comfortable, and the interior stays cool which was much appreciated at night. William even provided a small table fan, but we didn’t need it. Out front, there is covered porch with rocking chairs, a fire pit, camp chairs, picnic table, and bbq grill. Plenty of trees around for shade. The bathroom building is so quaint and clean! Definitely nice to know we could have a shower after our hikes.

At night, you can see bats and hear all sorts of wildlife. During the day, we were visited by neighboring cows during breakfast! There is a horseshoe pit that we didn’t utilize on this trip, but some other campers did! William was always available and checked in with us each morning to make sure we had everything we need and empty any trash. He has really good firewood available on site, make sure to order it through your Hipcamp reservation! William also provided us with brochures and tips on exploring the area and where to head. Bass Lake is very close and has tons of recreation, we also hit Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, and a few trails around there!

We definitely are looking forward to staying at W5 again! All of the creature comforts to really make it feel like a retreat and just enough roughing it to make it feel like camping without lugging tons of gear :)

The shower! Nice size bench/changing area, towel hooks, and a seat inside the shower itself! The camp chairs and fire pit. There’s a small creek bed between the cabin and the other camp areas, the tent is the closest site to the cabin, the other structure is the restroom! The perfectly quaint front porch. Rocking chairs were perfect for making plans and sipping coffee in the morning.Gorgeous place at night! The stars are absolutely amazing and the bats are pretty cute!

William was an Excellent host! Maintained the Cabin and surrounding property very well. Was available and helpful when called upon, but otherwise was respectful of our privacy.

The cabin has a lot of surrounding space and is separated from the other campsites on the property. We set up our tree tent on the hill just above the picnic table and grill area in the trees above. Although it was in the high 90s, the cabin remained reasonably cool in the evenings. There was a fan, four windows (great cross breeze), outlets, etc.

William went above and beyond our expectations. There was a group that was far exceeding the recommended limits for social gathering (family of ~20 adults and kids). When the third SUV arrived late at night, he came down and politely asked them to leave. It was unfortunate given that it was late, however he did what needed to be done in order to maintain a healthy camp environment given the COVID circumstances.

The bathroom was pristine, and the shower was even better! Hot water, bench, great water pressure, and a rainfall shower head! The cabin also has its own "private" porter potty if you are trying to avoid other campers. There was also a communal wash station to manage dirty dishes after cooking.

Unfortunately, camp fires were not allowed due to the fire rating, but charcoal and gas camp grills were allowed. There were some bugs, but not enough that they were a complete nuisance.

We spent one day at Nelder Grove in Sierra National Forest (~35 minute drive), one day at Shaver Lake (1.2 hour drive), and one day in Yosemite National Park in the Mariposa Grove (~50 minute drive). I'd highly recommend all three, but Nelder had the fewest people and the biggest Sequoia Groves (bigger trees than Mariposa Grove). We only saw 4 other hikers and 2 US Forest Workers.

Cell service is spotty at best, but that is to be expected. The cabin was about a 10 minute drive to Coarsegold, which was a quaint mountain village with useful amenities. Oakhurst is a 20 minute drive away, and has all of the shopping one might need for camping provisions.

We will most definitely be back in the fall. There wasn't anything to complain about between the cabin, the property and the hosts.

Full Moon. Fourth of July! Cabin view over the bridge. Dinner on the charcoal grill Front View. Night Time.

We had a great time staying in William's cabin. It was brand new, had a comfortable bed (bring your own sheets or sleeping bags), and we loved sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs in the evening. There were a few other campsites pretty close by, but it was not a problem for us. There was a private outhouse for the cabin, and a shower shared with the other campsites. Both William and his wife were friendly and offered useful recommendations of things to do. It was hot during the day, but then cooled down by the time we went to sleep. The fan provided in the cabin was great!

We stayed at the cabin and it was wonderful! The hosts were friendly and the cabin and bathroom (shower and toilet areas) were well kept and very clean! We would have loved to use the fire pit, but weather didn't permit, which is understandable given the fire risks. Overall we had a really peaceful, wonderful weekend. We would love to come back!

Thank you William for hosting us this weekend! My partner and I planned a trip to Yosemite for our anniversary. We were delighted with the campsite, it had all the amenities you'd need! The cabin was incredibly cozy and comfortable, the picnic area was spacious, and the bathrooms very nice. We particularly enjoyed the coloring of the wood paneling used on the interior of the cabin. The blue in the reclaimed wood made for a nice accent to the room.

My friends and I recently stayed at the cabin at Circle W5 and had a marvelous time! We used it as our home base for a few days of a Yosemite trip, and were so pleased with the cabin, amenities, and our hosts. It was very clean, had everything advertised and more (air conditioning, a TV, lovely decorations, grill, table with umbrella that had LED lights for evening card games, etc.). William and his wife were very responsive, and we could not have asked for a better place to come home to after long days of hiking! We will definitely be coming back for future trips :)

This is a hidden gem about an hour from the entrance of Yosemite and two hours from Yosemite Valley!

The review has to start with the host, William, who greeted us upon entry and was so kind to talk about his son and grandson building this cabin by hand as a fun, creative project.

The cabin itself is clean, bright, and comfortable. Bring your own linens for the bed and everything else is included. Air conditioning for the cabin was a delight during the warm summer days. There are ample outlets for plugging in devices or fan (one is also provided). Outside there are two rocking chairs, a fire pit, charcoal grill, and picnic table with lighting.

Lastly, the bathroom and shower are amazing amenities. A hot shower after hours of hiking in either Yosemite, Sierra National Forest, or a day out at Bass Lake is a total game changer.

I couldn't recommend this cabin more! Thank you so much for the hospitality!

The cabin entrance with TV and great natural lighting. Bring your own linens and enjoy sleeping on an incredibly comfortable bed. The view from the parking spot. Two rocking chairs and the proximity of the cabin to the bathroom/shower. This is shared with the two additional campsites but the cabin also has a private outhouse.

As a non-camper myself, it was the perfect "camping" experience :) The cabin, neighboring camping area, showers and restrooms are well maintained and the host is very responsive. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay here! We stayed in the cabin which was spacious, super clean and comfortable. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the AC unit came in handy due to the smoke outside from CA fires. William was a great host- so helpful with recommendations, directions and made sure everyone was taken care of. The land was really beautiful and care for. We highly recommend staying here and hope to make it back ourselves.
