A secluded bed & breakfast and retreat house off-road and high up in the San Gabriel Mountains.  Getaway for a day, weekend or week.  Enjoy the silence, the walks, mountains and fresh air.  St. Joseph's Inn offers you your choice of a new pillowtop queen suite or twin pillowtop pine beds bear suite. Built in 1969 on a five-acre ranch with walking paths, swimming pool, picnic table, balcony views of the valley and St. Joseph's Chapel for meditation and reflection.  A great place to feel like you're camping but never have to rough it. Surrounded by sunny days and starry nights, two fireplaces, outdoor fire pot, lots of wildlife, intriguing geological landscapes, the Joshua Tree and other awesome mountain and desert vegetation.

Hike or bike to California State Park geological wonder, "Punch Bowl."  And speaking of rocks, for the professional or amateur geologist or just curious check out first-hand the nooks, sag ponds and cracks formed along the San Andreas Faultline running right through the region.  Face north, place one foot on the North American Plate and the other on the Pacific Plate. In a million years, your left foot will be in Alaska!  Awesome views of the Mojave Desert below.

In the summer, refresh in a 10,000 gallon above ground pool fed by mountain snows and springs.  Fall and winter are a time for relaxing views of snowcapped mountains and recreation, depending on weather. Recommended, to carry chains during the months of December - March.

Locally, check out the following - all short drives away or by rail:  Magic Mountain Six Flags, Universal Studios, Getty Museum and 100s of L10 11s, DC 10s, 747, 727 and 737 jet aircraft retired in nearby Victorville, CA desert boneyard - "Southern California Logistics Airport."  Visit the home of SpaceX and Edwards Airforce Base.  Lastly, for national and international guests, for just a few dollars, take the local Metrolink Rail (minutes away) from Palmdale, CA into downtown Los Angeles for the day and then ride the LA Metro to Chinatown or Hollywood!
