Mesa camp is a nice green grassy spot on the hill side by Coleman trail. Breath taking views of the surrounding areas with lots of hiking around the property. Enjoy your stay at Mesa camp. No Picnic tables or trash cans. Less then a mile hike to camp.
This is a backpacking site. That means there are NO facilities. The closest toilets will be a significant walk from where you are camping. Absolutely everything -- you know what that means -- needs to be packed in and packed out. Thanks for your help keeping our land fresh and clean!

Just came back from an incredible weekend at Chanslor Ranch on the Mesa Camp site! Camp host, Myra, was great and incredibly helpful throughout the weekend. Views are as incredible as advertised. Great beach about a mile walk away. They have an ATV to take your stuff up & back to the site for $20 (otherwise it's about a mile walk and part is up quite a steep and rocky incline). Note they don't sell ice (yet) on property. We will absolutely be back as soon as we can swing it!
Mesa Camp was a beautiful and relaxing stop along the California coast. It was windy when I first set up the tent but I managed without trouble. The hike up to the top of the hill is worth the sweat and gives an even lovelier view of the bay. The best part about my stay was the incredible sunset I observed through the tent. I recommend this campsite for solo or group travels!
Great site far enough away from other sites to feel secluded. Pretty intense wind kept things pretty cold until the sun set and it died down. I would bring extra tie downs to support your tent during the day. The view overlooking the Ocean was a huge plus. What a sunset!
We had a wonderful time camping at Mesa Camp. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. When we arrived, it was pretty windy, but the view was spectacular. To our pleasant surprise, the wind died down just as we finished setting up camp and getting ready to prepare dinner, and the weather throughout the rest of the evening and into the morning the following day was spectacular. We slept well and enjoyed the peacefulness of the morning. We'll definitely camp here again!
