The vibe at Hogback Site

Hogback Was awesome! we loved the site, very cool and pressed against some beautiful rock formations. Only downside was that there were a few cow-pies, but really not a big deal. The staff were all so cool and generous. The fog got so dense while we were there that we were getting pretty wet and they had a few large Tepees that normally cost much more to stay in, but because they were unoccupied and the weather wasn't great they let us use one for free!
Absolutely great location. Wonderful hosts and very accessible to town for forgotten supplies. One thing to note about this particular site is that you don't have a wide open view of the ocean. All you need to do is walk a minute up the hill to see this panorama. The advantage this brings the site is both fantastic privacy as well as much needed shelter from the wind. Also, bring a grill grate and water so you can enjoy your camp food!
Great place to stay. It's a low-key place with beautiful views especially when they let the horses out to pasture at night and you see the horses on the opposing hillside. The campsite itself is great. It feels a lot more private than some of the others. You definitely need 4WD or AWD to drive up to the site. It's a bit of a walk to the bathrooms and showers, but there are hot showers and clean bathrooms. They have firewood for sale and it's not a bad deal as long as you get bigger pieces. The camp staff are really friendly and helpful.
You definitely need a 4x4 or AWD to get up there but it's worth it. The views are beautiful and it is nice and private except for the occasional hiker. Bathroom access is not convenient though, it's either a drive down the hill or a long steep hike. Still I would love to come back and stay longer then a night.
The Wife and I really enjoyed the Rocky Hill Top... Great view yet still somewhat secluded. We have a new 4Runner so we got to use the 4wd features to access the site which was fun. The facilities at the farm are clean and within easy access of the hilltop. We had 3 others for one of the nights for a total of 5 with no problems. The only thing to be aware of is that the weather in June. While it was for the most part sunny during the day, in the evening and at night, the clouds rolled in from the coast and it was cold, overcast and drizzling. Be sure to bring your rain fly and warm clothing / sleep gear.
Amazing view, most private site we saw (compared to the other sites at these grounds). The sun can be a bit intense during the day, but there's a tree to huddle under. This town has a marine warning sound thing and all you can hear every 15 seconds or so is BEEEEEEEP. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves though. The staff are fantastic.
