Perfect Peaceful Oasis!
Douglas & Karen provided us with the perfect weekend getaway! We drove up from LA and wanted to stay near the Santa Barbara area, and chose Carpinteria because of how low-key the area is and relaxed. The camper was an absolute dream home-base: very clean, fit with anything we needed like disposable cups, water, a french press, etc, and a quiet/comfy abode. Easy to find, no problems with neighbors, close-by to anything we wanted to do (mainly stayed at the campsite due to the pandemic, which proved to be the most enjoyable option). Highly recommend a midday relaxing in the hammock chairs. Will hopefully be back again!

Campsite with Ambience and Extras!
We loved our stay here! Doug was friendly and responsive from the get-go, and we felt well taken care of. He was so kind and easy to work with. The hammock chairs, propane fire ring, and outdoor shower were the highlights of the site. The trailer was comfortable and cozy for sleeping for my family of four. It was a bonus to have ample electricity, hot water, and the barbecue grill. If I could change one thing, it would be to move the porta-potty a little farther away, but that’s really the only thing that felt “rough.” There are neighbors close by even though it looks very private, so just be mindful of that. Also, pay attention to the route getting into the campsite if you plan to leave and come back. We had a little trouble after a day at the beach. We would love to come back one day! Special thanks to Doug for bending over backwards to get my birthday girl the s’mores camping experience she was hoping for.

Private and tranquil
It is a very secluded and peaceful site. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating; they definitely wanted us to feel welcome and comfortable. The trailer was clean and cozy. The beach was just a short drive from the location. Would highly recommend staying here.

This was the perfect escape away from the city! Our host Doug and his wife were on time to meet us and very friendly throughout the entire stay. We did think we would be able to let our dogs run free because after all we were getting away from the fireworks for them but that was not the case. The neighbors were bothered the dogs were off leash and crossed to their side of the property. There were wooden logs that separate the two properties and our dogs did not know any better. Overall we still enjoyed our stay besides that minor hiccup and would recommend the place.

A Peaceful Retreat
So amazing! Loved relaxing in the RV and looking out at the oak trees. So quiet and peaceful. Loved grilling and making s’mores. Doug, the host, was available for anything, anytime. Me and my two grown sons found the space to be accommodating. One more grown person might have been too much. Perfect for a couple and their two young children. I’d definitely visit again. The only issue I had was having to use the outhouse. While it was kept clean, I just like to be able to use a toilet. But that’s just me. You’ll love the place and want to visit again!!!

Completely understand why Doug and Karen love their little piece of paradise! From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived we were blown away by the surroundings and excited to start our little adventure. The whole meet at a liquor store and follow some stranger to a camper on an unmarked road went off without a hitch. Make sure to arrive before its dark!!!! Doug made it easy to get in contact with him and he was prompt when meeting us. Karen and him were very nice and gave us the grand tour of the site and then left us to be. We loved the avocados that they had waiting for us and used them all. Being next to a fully functioning avocado ranch and not being able to pick from the trees was a huge tease. The location could have not been more perfect-literally minutes to Carpinteria beaches and not even 20 miles to Santa Barbara. Both nights we were lulled to sleep by nature sounds and the howls of coyotes, which we loved. My boyfriend and I have been essential workers during this entire heavy time in the world and very much needed a getaway and some secluison. Although no complaints (honestly), there were a few things I feel like people would appreciate knowing before hand. You see a lot more people than anticipated even if it seems like you are hidden away from everyone. We were warned that we might see the neighboring avocado ranch owner ride through on her horse or some of the other staff while staying here...and that we did. We heard and saw a few workers in the early morning and some other random people who were walking the grove at dusk. Even though it appears as if there aren't any close neighbors, I believe there are as we got a complaint from one of them about our music being too loud in the evening the first night there. Doug apologized for them being fussier than they had thought and that was thing only thing we heard from them the rest of our stay. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the toilet on the camper was non functional so a port-a-potty was provided. No biggie...just wish we had known prior. There are bees, and LOTS of them...yes yes I know its nature and you figure they would be around, BUT I was chased by a few when first arriving, maybe it was because it was summer or we disturbed something coming in?Wanted to let all my bee allergy friends know just incase. Overall, we are beyond grateful and pleased with our experience here and plans are already in the works to come back!
