We think this is  the best of two worlds, camping and civilized accommodations. With this open and spacious Hut you feel like you are a camping, very close to nature, but also have the comforts most campers miss. Hut is now ready for night  if temps drop, both ends are closed in, and we have forced air heaters and a wood stove

We think you will love to relax, explore the river area, swim, watch some football, play some badminton, sit by your campfire and BBQ in a very peaceful and fun environment. The fishing is good to great. We even have Kayaks and ATVs to rent.

We have licensed and bonded fishing guides, drift boats, bowfishing equipment (for pike minnow and carp), amphibious watercraft and ATV's to chase the steelhead and bass! Ask for details

There are several miles of river near the lodge with decent holding areas for trout and salmon.  This river is excellent for fly casting as there are many sandbars without obstruction to your back casts. We encourage bank fishing and patiently fishing each hole while you walk along the river.

If you have flotation/pontoon type device or some other vessel, we can drop you off upriver for a float to our place or pick you up if you prefer to leave from the Hut and  head down river to the next bridge. The river itself is very isolated from civilization in this 16 mile stretch, despite its proximity to the Bay Area. You feel as if you are in a wilderness setting, thanks to the huge vineyards providing a buffer to any development, roads or highways. It is not a river with lots of fast water, and early in the year you may have to drag your pontoon boat or whatever over a few shallow spots.

The fish average 6 to 8 pounds, and, like all steel head, fight like demons, and are either wild or hatchery born.  Roe, lures, and flies all work well.  The regulations prevent the use of bait until later in the season, so make sure you check rules before you soak some roe.

The lodge has tree large beds (1 King and two doubles) and a fully stocked camp kitchen, Satellite TV, mini bar and inside and outside dining area.  The campsite area has a fire ring,  propane stove, sink, pots, pans and utensils.

As previously mentioned, no permanent structures are allowed, so a small shed shaped tent covers a platform with a flush toilet and a big shower basin. Nothing fancy, it has to be light enough to be moved, but it works.

We charge $125 for two, and $25 for each additional guest per night.  Geyserville and River Rock Casino are minutes away and the town has several outstanding restaurants, a really unique bar and a coffee shop for breakfast.

Our guides are licensed and bonded fishing guides. I will advise you free of charge on where to fish, but there will be $100 fee for guiding on the drift boat or ATV’s. We can accommodate up to 6 people, but charge $25 for each after the first two.

No tent or camp set up needed, ours is a (nearly new) state of the art $24,000 US Armed Force's huge Quonset style Hut. It was designed for rapid deployment in the Middle East, has dead air space lining, multiple screened widows, and can be enclosed for privacy and insect protection in seconds. There is a almost eerie absence of mosquitos in this area, however, but the open areas on the tent are netted just in case.

No permanent structures are allowed this close to the river, so you won't find anything like our Hut.  You will have access to many miles of river and riparian woodlands, and will rarely encounter anyone while exploring.

A fully stocked Camp Kitchen.  Running water, electricity, Direct TV.  Flush toilet and solar shower at the site,  plus access to bathroom at main house with private entrance (in case you want a late night shower we leave door open all night with light on to the stairway leading to the small bathroom)

Washer/Dryer in shed. Wi-Fi if within 100 feet of house. There is a King size AND  two Double size beds and two couches so it will sleep 6.  SLEEPERS ON COUCHES MUST BRING THEIR OWN BEDDING!! We charge $25 per person extra for any people over the first two.

We provide camp stove with propane, plates, utensils, cooking tools  including pots and pans, and such fundamentals like suger, spices, and cooking oil. There is a small refrigerator, and two coolers provided, so you should bring some ice (available in town). Towels are also provided for shower.

River Rock Casino is a short drive, as is the village of Geyserville with 4 restaurants and 2 convenience stores. Wine tasting at Zialena Winery is adjacent to the property and many famous wineries are nearby. Fishing is good to excellent for small mouth bass and steelhead trout. Kayaking and the best swimming river in California!

PS

No large vehicles are allowed on the river near camp. No ATV's or Dirt bikes allowed that you own are permitted without prior authorization, but we rent ATV's.

We charge $25 per person extra for any guests above the first two.

Host was very responsive and attentive. Although the host did provide a private camp site and there were curtains to provide some slight shelter front the outside wilderness. The tent was a bit too exposed during the night to provide adequate security for our personal liking. To reiterate, the host was very kind and responsive and put a lot of effort into the building of the camp site and did bring a certain charming aspect during the day.

We close in the Hut on both ends except in the summer, when one end is exposed. I think, in any event, when camping by definition one should expect to be "exposed", so I don't agree with any security concerns Jorge pointed out. Our site is surrounded by large tracts of private property, it is rare to encounter anyone if ever.

Hi-Tech Quonset Hut is our very best favorite out of the 6 sites that we visisted this year! You sleep on comfortable beds, camp in private river property, our dogs were in heaven-woof woof woooof!!! You have the adventure of exploring by hiking, biking, canoeing, ATV'S, swimming or just plain movie watching while smoking some beef!!! Such a relaxing cool site, if we could we would reserve a weekend every month!!!!!!!!!! I am sure our laughter was infectious and who does'nt need more of that!!! We all still smiling!!! BIG THANKS TO YOU WILLIAM AND SEE YOU SOON!!!!!!!

distance to river varies depending on time of year but 10 minute trek is never that far..Closest access at dry time of year is about 2 minutes walk time...

Loved! Perfect weekend “glamping” getaway from SF for the 4 of us and 3 dogs. Not only was the tent spacious and much better than expected (2 beds, bedding, 2 couches, kitchen table, bar, tv, karaoke, etc) but the location could not have been better. A 10 minute walk to fishing on the river, 2 minute drive from downtown, there is a dog-friendly winery across the street, and the casino was only 10 minutes away. The host could not have been nicer or more available in helping with the stove, shower, forced heating, and our instructions. It even poured the first night and the inside stayed dry, warm, and cozy. I wish we could have enjoyed more of the outdoor space (grill, nice lights, etc) byt I ended up spiking a fever and we wanted to beat post-Thankgiving traffic so we left early. We all agreed we’ll definitely be back! Thank you again, William!

Just stayed here one night, but William was a wonderful host and the site is very private. Super fun way to “camp” without needing to lug gear!
