Where do I begin? This is one of the coolest Hipcamps I've ever stayed at. Upon my arrival, Jim our Host, was there to greet me in the parking area to shuttle me to my cabin. On our way up he gave me a brief history of the property and I was surprised to learn this property had been a kid's summer camp for over 80 years.

The setting is as you would expect it and more! Since I arrived after dark, I did not get to enjoy it until the next morning. Man, was it worth the wait. I fell in LOVE with the ara while sipping my coffee at the dining hall and watching the sunrise over the rolling hills. If you have time, I encourage you to explore the property. There are so many cool spots to discover (such as a great lookout point hint hint). Throughout our whole trip, we had plenty to keep us occupied like a morning tennis match and an afternoon at the pool - our host was also full of suggestions of things to do throughout Carmel valley, so if you need ideas don't hesitate to ask.

After days full of various activities, I looked forward to retiring to my cabin each night. I was surprised to find out the cabins were original to the property. Jim and his team have done an amazing job of refinishing them. Not only did I feel safe and protected from the elements, but the beds in these cabins are arguably better than my $800.00 bed I have at home!

Overall, I was very very pleased with my trip to Camp at Carmel Valley. I felt I had a great idea of what to expect from their listing details but, I was also pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail that has gone into the guest experience here. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this place and I am already eagerly awaiting my next trip out there!

Big thanks to Jim and the whole team for an amazing experience!

Jim and company are amazing hosts and made our group trip an absolutel blast. Accommodations were exactly as described, and the brand new bathrooms were super nice. If you have a big group that wants a classic “summer camp” venue with endless games and activities, this is the spot!

Great weekend at the camp! Amazing food like not normal camp food we are talking healthy grilled chicken kale salad for starters! Yum

Everything was clean and kept up well. Jim should put more photos up because it doesn’t show how amazing the place is and how high quality it is until you are there.

Played tennis did a polar plunge in the pool and played basketball.

This property has so many things to offer, it is impossible to not have an amazing weekend here. We had a big group camping trip at Camp at Carmel Valley and I really enjoyed playing tennis and basketball with a lot of my coworkers - for hours! Spontaneous group sports like that haven't happened in my life in a while (unfortunately!), but we all gravitated towards the sport courts on this property and it was just too much fun.

The cabins and shower/bathroom house are really well constructed, the amenities far surpassed my expectations. The Hosts were super helpful and just delightful people. The setting is beautiful as well with amazing views.

Jim was an excellent host. The food was very delicious and there are a ton of fun things to do both on the property and close by. We went for a hike, did some wine tasting and got in some epic beach bouldering all in one day.

We had a really wonderful weekend here - I genuinely loved everything about our trip, from the beautiful drive down the coast and the amazing location of the camp, to the cozy cabins, group campfires, and learning about the history of the property. The camp is incredible, and has everything you could want for a vacation - pool, tennis courts, outdoor games, hiking, stargazing and more! It's also very dog friendly - our group had several pups, and they all had a great time exploring! Jim is an incredible Host, and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. The directions were super easy to follow, and everything on the property is well marked and easy to find. We can't recommend it enough - it's perfect for group trips, family reunions, or even just a fun weekend away from the city.

This place has it all! Wonderful space for a big group. Cabins and bathrooms are immaculate. Big beautiful dining halls, plenty of spaces for tents and van camping. They are improving everything as they are fairly new, but they're doing great so far. Such caring and accommodating hosts.

Summer camp vibes all around! Great property to roam around, and filled with activities that you can your group can enjoy - tennis court, basket court, and the best, a pool! If not, this location is close to all the beautiful spots you can find within a 10-20 mins drive away - Carmel village, pacific highway, Monterey, point lobos etc.

Highly recommend for large groups looking to get away from the city :)
