Gorgeous secluded property!
Thanks for hosting us! Our 2 year old loved visiting with the animals and checking out the “trucks”. Gorgeous site on a very secluded lot. Amenities were wonderful and clean and very convenient. We’ll be coming back soon for another stay! Also- Get plenty of gas in Redding as the road to the house is quite long!
Nora & Scott were super helpful! There's a lake, hot springs and creeks in the area. Place was definitely hard to find. Address is not the exact location, it's up another 20 miles or so past what Google labels as "big bend road". Campsite is right by the creek & there's some cute llamas on the farm as well. :)
Lovely area to stay in, we definitely recommend it! Nora is a wonderful host.
Note: Big Bend Road gets a little rough and rocky towards the end. It's a longer drive than we anticipated!
Relaxing place with nice creek
My friend and had a great time camping here. The location is very remote and there was no cell service. Our camp site was right next to the creek and I haven’t slept so well in weeks. We were a little lost in the begin finding the camp ground but Nora found us very quick and showed us around. 10/10 would come back!!
We had a great time at the camp! Our kids loved the animals and the creek. The kitchen was clean and equiped and also the shower and bathroom. The people were wonderful and Nora was super nice to us!
It's pretty far to get to the main road, so if you go to the falls take that into account.
Come for solitude & homemade jam!
Sleeping right next to the soothing sounds of Kosk Creek was amazing!
Scott came down to greet me and helped me get settled in as soon as I arrived. He even lent me a tarp (which was very useful for covering the dusty ground in front of my tent) and a small camping table. Nora was away during my visit, so unfortunately I didn’t meet her, but she was friendly and responsive in making arrangements and making sure I found their site. Her cherry-rhubarb and apricot-pineapple preserves she left for guests in the fridge are to die for!
I selected the furthest site from the shower house and kitchen so had plenty of desired privacy from the other campers. Well-equipped and maintained facilities. Bring bug spray and citronella for mosquitoes. Also river shoes. The creek is shallow and tough to swim in in front of the campsites, but there apparent is a swimming hole about a half mile north (which I never found, unfortunately) and a hot spring a couple of miles back down the road (labeled Hunt Hot Spring on Google maps) which I did find. Park outside the gate and walk along the river bank for 1/2 mile or so. The cabins looked great too! I’d definitely consider a return visit and recommend it to others.
There’s a store called the Pit Stop a few miles down the road with plenty of provisions if you happen to forget something. No cell coverage in the area, but there’s a pay phone outside of the store.
Scott and nora are wonderful
Amazing. Scott and Nora are wonderful people and their campsite is so well equipped. They have literally everything you need. The directions they sent worked great. Scott even made us a fire in his hand-made pizza oven which was wonderful.
This is a campsite I will definitely be returning to in the near future. With the variety of lodging options: camping, bunk house, family lodging, and the amenities : warm shower, flushing toilet, electricity, community pizza oven, and various grills/ fire pits, it is the perfect place to accommodate most levels of campers. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves and were able to pick any place in the camping area to set up. Scott was super nice and oriented us to camp upon our arrival. He set us up with firewood, kindling, a fire pit, and even brought us a picnic table right to our site. With the sites righton the riverbed we enjoyed the relaxing sounds of the rushing river and the views of the starry skies at night. This was also the perfect place for my dog to enjoy his time outdoors without being constricted to a 6ft leash. One of the best parts is the ranch and all the animals: llamas, goat, horses, and cows. Last but not least the location was perfect to be able to explore nearby falls and hot springs.
