What a mess. My partner and I drove 3 1/2 hours from Oakland CA to sleep in acres of tall dead grass. If that doesn’t excite you, you should book this trip to fully understand the concept of “grass is greener on the other side.” What could be more worth $88 than 1 night of yellow scratchy meadows surrounded by beautifully kept green vineyards in every direction. Ps, exciting surprise of a cemetery on the border of this campground for some added spooky fun!

Arrival: If you get lost, that’s ok because 3 other groups couldn’t find their way either...Most exhilarating part of this “vacation” was my poor Prius off-roading through dead brush since there were no signs or arrows from the main road or once you got on the property.

Host: Manners? I’m not sure if it’s because we’re lesbians or his WiFi went out and he “couldn’t” reply to any of our messages but we saw Roger. We saw him when we struggled trying to use all 4 of his broken communal BBQ grills for 10 minutes and then awkwardly walking back to our tent without a way to cook dinner.

Covid Safe? He did seem nice talking to everyone but us. However, he was not wearing a mask and neither was the large group of college students sipping his wine out of glasses.

Is this right for you? This is NOT WORTH $. Maybe $20 but no more. The shower is by the back door of the main house open and ready for witnesses and there are 2 port-a-potties you have to drive to get to.

At least it’s a funny story but never again.

Staying at Camp Paso aka Camp Social D was absolutely everything my friends & I needed during the pandemic. We had complete privacy, finding a great spot under a shady tree. We had views of the hills. The sunset was amazing. I would definitely come back.

Camp Paso was such a great stop over for us!!! My family and I met up here for one night and everyone had a wonderful time. The sites were nicely spaced out with dirt roads connecting them, we picked a spot over looking some vineyards (near the pioneer cemetery). Roger has a tasting room on the same property, my sister and cousin checked out one of the tastings and loved it. They brought back some wine that we all enjoyed. The only drawback was that our site had a few ant hills so we had to be extra careful not to leave any food or drinks out more than 10 mins. But hey nature exists in nature. And getting to be in an area not clustered with other campers was well worth it!! Would definitely recommend and would love to return again!!! Thank you Roger!!

Roger was great! Felt safe and so welcomed! Beautiful land, fun quaint tasting, and clean port-a-potty. So many sites to choose from. The kids loved riding their bikes on the rolling hills. We loved sittong hilltop at sunset sipping on our wine from Roger's winery. Picture perfect sunsets. We will definitely be back!

Roger was awesome. We booked last minute, we arrived late and he was welcoming and kind. The space is beautiful. Only regret is that we didn't spend more time and get to taste some wine.

Roger and his wife are so friendly and welcoming and the property is absolutely gorgeous! Our campsite was secluded and had a great view. He offers wine tastings and I wish we had a chance to go, but we are definitely planning to come back again!
