This site has a 10x12 tent on a platform and features openings on both ends with mosquito netting and also a window overlooking the creek. The tent features a double bed and small table and has a hammock with a canopy outside. Inside the tent we also have a small cot that is available for a small child. This particular site is located directly across the bridge from the lodge and restrooms but up along the creek at the end of the pathway. You pass sites #4, #5, #6 and #6A and #9 to access this site. It is at the end of the creek frontage and a camp favorite. Each camp spot has its own picnic table and a propane fire pit that is available for ambiance not cooking. Purchase of propane is available to rent on site. This site does not have electricity. We allow dogs in the mini-glamping sites. Only registered guests in #9 and #10 are allowed in this area.
Reservation considerations. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July land Labor Day. Beginning in the 2020 season we do not do checkins on Sunday. However, if you are on site and want to extend over Sunday night all you have to do is let us know in advance or during your stay. Due to COVID many of our weddings were postponed into 2021 so many weekends during May, June, September and October are not available for camping. So if one weekend is booked looked to another weekend or you might consider a mid-week - Monday - Thursday visit.
This is a family private owned small campground (16 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, platforms with canvas tents and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. Our hallmark is our family teepee! We are all about tent camping – we do not allow travel trailers, campers or van camping.
Now that we have a season under our belts we’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe.We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.Tahoe is less than an hour away.We are dog friendly and love our pets but absolutely enforce leash laws to protect your pet as well as the other campers.Due to the nature of our mixed audience camp we also enforce our quiet period from 10 pm to 7 AM.
We have a lodge that is stocked with game tables and every game imaginable along with a ping pong table. The lodge has a Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups). We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. The showers are nice and cleaned daily.
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volley ball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play.We also have many outdoor games for meadow play including a tug-a-war rope, gunny sacks, baseballs, gloves and a soccer net.We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores. We treat our guests to s’mores each Saturday and Tuesday nights! The common area has BBQs – both propane and charcoal as well as a cooking griddle (we also adding a campfire pit in the campfire bowl area for charcoal dutch oven cooking). We are in the wilderness so we have a cool room to store all food at night – yes bears live in the wilderness.
The Creek starts out in the spring looking like a rushing river featuring lots of swimming holes and fishing. However, as the summer evolves it is more of a small creek even though we do dam a portion of it (goes up memorial day weekend and down after labor day) for those that want to use the floating devices we provide (starts out 6 feet and ends up closer to 3 feet). We do not allow individual campfires but have propane fire pits at our glamping sites and group camp sites for ambience – not cooking (glamping sites we provide one propane tank – group sites propane available for purchase).
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historic towns with great eating establishments. There’s always something happened in downtown Placerville. To make things nicer for our guests we have the ability to rent a limited number of tents, cots, individual propane fire pits, BBQs, etc. - anything to make it easier for our campers.Come give our location a try – we think you’ll enjoy yourselves.
During COVID-19 restrictions we will honor all state and county ordinances. We will ensure social distancing and will close certain areas such as the lodge and playground area. We expect all guests to comply as well.

From the minute we arrived, Greg was very attentive and helpful! He led us up to our campsite & showed us where everything was before having us sign some liability paper work. We were close enough to the creek that we could go dip our feet in. The BBQ area had 3 BBQs that were open to everyone, so we were able to make some breakfast each day. The bathrooms were very clean, and the club house was well supplied with games and some other essentials. While we had a little conflict with another camp group, Greg helped solve our problems and quickly squashed the problem. I would definitely recommend this campsite & may even check out glamping next time.
We had an awesome 3 days here and would highly recommend. Greg and Laurie were super accommodating and even let us add a cot to our tent for our daughter that they provided. Greg was very funny and personable and made us feel at home. You can tell they care about everyone’s experiences and put a lot of money back into the camp. My daughter was super stoked to hear they do a group s’mores night. The creek was great fun to play in and they even had floaties there. We hope to be able to visit again in the future!
Exactly what i needed to unplug
This site was right next to a creek with running water so we got to fall asleep to that sound. And we had fun dipping our feet in upstream from the swimming hole. The bed was comfortable, the fire pit was lovely. This site is the last in a line so there’s a lot of privacy. The host was very friendly and accommodating. Lots of fun things like tubes, cornhole and ping pong and plenty of grills available to accommodate all parties. And they provided s’mores at the group fire! Also what was great is that the placerville forecast was an exceptionally hot weekend but where this camp is situated is cooler than placerville thanks to the creek. Was really a treat to stay there.
Wonderful place for families and kids with so many areas to relax and explore. Site 10 is lovely- set back from the rest of camp with a clean and beautifully decorated interior, and the sound of the stream all night. Good amenities, responsive hosts.
Our Mini Glamping weekend was wonderful! Greg was a great host, and we enjoyed many conversations with him over the weekend. Camp Nauvoo was an excellent choice to take my 22 year old with special needs and feel that he would be safe and still able to move independently throughout the camp and participate in activities offered. Our site was very clean, and had many thoughtful touches. We look forward to spending time at Camp Nauvoo in the future! Thanks for a great weekend!
Where to start, tent cabin is at the end of the path, its along a beautiful little creek (still running in Sept.) and bed was super comfy and warm. We left the outer flaps open all night while listening to a great horned owl hooting away and a hawk in the am. Quiet and peaceful all night long. Our dog loved it too. The gas firepit and cover hammock was perfect for a quick weekend trip to Tahoe. And Laurie and Greg are fantastic hosts. Clean bathrooms, big wagons to haul gear to your camp. Very family friendly and close to Placerville.
Welcoming, serene & comfy retreat
Greg was wonderful. The sites (9and 10) were super private and perfect for our family and pets. Right next to the river and with all the glamping extras.
Greg was constantly around the common areas ensuring everything was cleaned, but he did so in a stealthy manner so he did not intrude. However, when we talked to him he was super welcoming to our family, funny, thoughtful, and filled with tips. He even led us with his car to the biking path parking lot to make sure we did not get lost.
Common cooking areas are more than fully equipped, bathrooms spotless, and the swimming and bonfire areas quaint and pretty.
Great for families or groups. If you want a quiet retreat I would recommend tent 10.
Clean,well-maintained, great staff
My daughter and I were looking for a place to stay while we checked out some swimming holes nearby. We had a great experience at Camp Nauvoo. VERY CLEAN and well-maintained campground. The tent cabins were the most modern and user-friendly I've ever seen. The "coat rack" inside our tent cabin was SO handy; we ended up hanging our lantern on it, our keys, bathing suits, backpacks, etc. The owner even brought me a birthday cupcake!!
