The vibe at CAMP COYOTE ACRES
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Camp Coyote Acres is by far, one of the best camping spots I've been to yet. Mike and his son Trenton have done a tremendous job in putting this place together so other people can also enjoy the the desert life. This campsite has an amazing night sky, lots of land to explore, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and soon enough, campers will have a restaurant so close to them they could walk to it. Mike plans to open a small and affordable restaurant for those who stay at the campsite offering some of the best homemade food for miles. Overall, I would definitely recommend for you to visit this campsite no only because of the stunning location but also because Mike and Trenton are some of the most down to earth, humble guys I've ever met! They run a stray dog program where they take dogs from the streets, heal and feed them and find them a new home. They do this with their own money, so that just tells you how humble they are. They also have a track in their property where they rent out motorcycles and dune buggies and if you ask nicely Mike and Trenton might give you a special guided off-road tour of the history of the region. Make sure you bring your camera!
Camp Coyote Acres was an absolute BLAST!!! The hosts, Mike and Trent, could not have been more welcoming and inviting. The property is gorgeous and full of amenities, like a fire pit, picnic table with benches, and a clean outhouse.
Mike was super helpful and has everything one could need to have a perfect night (or two) under the stars. Besides, Camp Coyote Acres is an animal sanctuary that takes in animals from kill shelters, so supporting them is a double bonus.
If you are in the area of Joshua Tree, look no further. The stars shine bright, the area is spacious and inviting, and the hosts couldn't be nicer. Thanks again!!
Trenton, mike, and heather were amazing hosts. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. More importantly, they will even take care of my four legged fur baby if needed. I hate leaving to go anywhere w/o my dog. Ive finally found a place where i can camp, shoot, go ohv, and bring my boy without any worries. I cannot wait to go back.
Coyote acres is off the hook
Mike and his son were incredibly hospitable to my fiancé and I! Our campsite looked like it was straight out of survivor! Tiki lamps and stringed lights wrapped around the camp spot, it was beautiful! The campsite also felt private and secluded . The next morning Mike took us out for a dunbuggie ride through the desert canyons- which was a major thrill and an opertunity that doesn’t present itself very often. We give this spot a solid 5 stars-GO CHECK IT OUT!
Amazing camp hosts!
Camp Coyote Acres really lived up to it's name! The coyotes were awesomely vocal. Our family had a fantastic time and the kiddo is begging to go back.
Mike and Trenton have a great place. The view over Johnson Valley is wonderful. We enjoyed our time with Mike and Heather, they were both fantastic hosts. Our home for the weekend was site 1 and we had the whole place to ourselves. Mike went out of his way to bring down some kid's size golf clubs for our kiddo to hit a few balls.
There is a menagerie of rescue animals, from turkeys to pigs. The greeting parties consisted of the ever faithful Chip and Kramer (the pups).
Camp Coyote Acres allows easy access to Joshua Tree NP without all the hassle of camping there. We spent two days in the park and were happy to return to CCA at the end of the day!
We loved our time at Camp Coyote Acres!
Best hipcamp i've stayed at
This is one of the coolest hipcamps I've ever stayed at. I would highly recommend it. Its also not far from Joshua Tree. Mike who works there is an awesome guy and if you're lucky he'll let you pet and meet all the animals hes rescued that live on the farm there. Cheers.
