Cazadero cabin with tent site on idyllic 18 acre, private creekside property. It’s hard to believe that just 2 hours from the Bay Area you’ll find a secluded redwood haven that’s as off the grid as Thoreau’s Walden (but stocked with more comforts, of course). Lose yourself willingly in this 60s era cabin, complete with an outdoor one-person clawfoot tub where you can soak amongst the 400 year old redwood forest. Central heating, a fire pit for s’mores and the like, a grill (medium), and a wood burning fireplace, are a few reasons that this cozy forest retreat is the hot ticket for your next family vacation or group getaway.
The main house (sleeping 6) is a one bedroom with two twin trundles, and a spacious queen sleeper that will have you waking up with the birds, forest landscapes, and the bacon and Bloody Marys you’ll whip up in the fully equipped kitchen. Spin a few records on the turntable that also syncs with bluetooth.
The spacious outdoor deck accommodates relaxing afternoon hammock naps, or sleeping under the stars—we’ve been known to pull a few trundle beds outside. That’s just the main house!
The property also includes 1 official campsite for medium/large sized tent, along with ample room for kids to camp on the deck (if they don’t want to venture too far). Message the host to discuss tent camping for more details. Campsite fee is $30 per site (not per person) listed under "additional guests".
This property is extremely kid-friendly, and includes 6 inner tubes for hours and hours of adult-supervised creek fun. Russian River, located in Monte Rio, is 20 minutes by car if you feel like venturing out.
The driveway accommodates 5-7 cars comfortably, and for those nights when the beers run out or someone forgot to buy the butter, Cazadero General Store is only a 5 minute drive down the road.
Nervous about being off the grid? Though we have a landline and a WIFI option, expect to unplug, unwind, and settle under the stars and canopies of the Great Northern California Wild. We cannot wait to have you!
*COVID: We want both our guests and housekeeping to feel comfortable. The Request To Book feature is currently activated. This guarantees full control to allow additional time for the cabin to be empty in between guests. Don't let that be a deterrent - messages will be answered quickly!
*Host is also willing to trade properties with other Hipcamp hosts.

Staying at camp caz was amazing! On top of that it’s decorated incredibly. So many thoughtful touches and fun things provided by hosts. Beyond worth it and will certainly come back next time!
Camp caz is absolutely amazing!
Camp Caz is beautiful and our host, Carrie, was amazing. The kiddos had a blast exploring the creek, looking for "animal caves", eating popsicles, and running freely throughout the grounds. One of our boys reported that he had the "best weekend of his life" there.
The cabin was tastefully decorated and offered versatile sleeping arrangements. Not only can you sleep in the cabin, but there's also a tent camping option. You really get the best of both worlds; tent camping and a warm cabin with all of the amenities. Honestly, I'm already planning my return.
Serene cabin get-away
We came here on a weekend away from the city and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was a quiet, rustic and well-maintained little cabin with all the essentials and some fun accoutrement. :)
Amazing cabin in cazadero
Hi! Camp Caz is an amazing property with a fairly large cabin surrounded by hilly woods. The cabin is well equipped for cooking, sleeping, music and wifi. Features that make Camp Caz special are the creek down from the cabin, an open air tub with hot and cold water, zip line and a tree house. The deck outside the cabin has string lights, a dining table, camping chairs, hammocks, bbq and fire pits. The lighting inside the cabin is a bit low, and some of the lights outside need changing. We had an excellent time, and highly recommend Camp Caz.
Camp caz is such a gem! Words can’t describe how magical the property is. The cabin has everything you possibly need and Carrie was super helpful and responsive. Just a note that while it is pet-friendly, dogs aren’t allowed inside the cabin so something to keep in mind during colder months. Our pups had a blast exploring the outdoors though and there was plenty of space to camp with them outside.
Family get away
Our time at Camp Caz was wonderful. The short walk to the river was manageable for even my elderly mother and the indoor fireplace was very cozy during these colder months. There are no ceramic mugs so if you prefer ceramic over a metal camping mug remember to bring your own. The larger oven also does not work but there is a smaller side oven that can fit a small tray. The cabin was really well provisioned and we really enjoyed our stay.
