Great quiet camping spot with beautiful trees and privacy. Close to Pt Arena - 8 minute drive and ocean. Host Sequoia (Leslie's husband) was very friendly and helpful - as well as his son Micah. I enjoyed my stay - plenty of natural beauty around with ocean and forest.
Redwoods dancing in the fog
Buckridge Grove is a lovely campsite. Though there are spots for three camping, we were the only one’s there, so it added to the privacy. This site is ideal for small groups so you can have the entire grove all to yourself!
Beautiful, private and peaceful
We loved our stay at Buckridge Grove. The site was private and lovely and (big bonus), included 30 amp electric hook up and a picnic table! Leslie was warm and accommodating and we could not have had a better experience!
Stay was overall great, there was a bit of confusion on where everyone was supposed to be though, and since we didn’t have service it made it tricky. We were expecting a private spot and shown to an area that was pretty secluded, but when we returned back to our site on Saturday there were an additional 3 groups there. One group couldn’t figure out where they were supposed to be and then we realized we were shown the wrong spot so I think we paid for more than we got given the photo she showed us later that looked much more private. It ended up being ok (great location overall close to the water), but I’d just be aware on a busy weekend that there will be a few other groups that are visible from each spot (it’s a pretty open grove), so just get very clear directions where you’re supposed to be - a map of the grounds might help!
Sequoia was a wonderful host. He went out of his way to help me to jump-start my battery. And all his suggestions to explore nearby was spot on. I really liked Pelican pluff hike!!! And of course, biking along with the lighthouse. Campground looked beautiful. I camped RV site that was also very peaceful and private I loved it!!! Highly recommend.
Sequoia and the rv spot was awesome
From the very day of booking the space Sequoia was very responsive, offering great travel tips and keeping in touch with us for our arrival. Once we arrived he greeted us with great energy and hospitality. He help guide us to our site and them provided us with exceptional advice on what to do and were in the area. The site itself was remarkably clean and beautiful. Upon our departure Sequoia gave us so. Ore helpful driving tips and sightseeing advice to finish out our amazing time at his place. We would absolutely return again and have already provided this spot info to our other family and camping friends. This is by far the best spot on our 10 day camping adventure. We will be back again
A very nice, quiet, pretty, peaceful campsite surrounded by a forest, separate from the group sites across the road. The near-by homes are barely visible through the trees. It's nice that this location is inland a few miles, so that it doesn't seem to get as much wind or fog (or chilly temps) as places right on the coast. The friendly host texted us helpful tips on local hiking spots, which were all lovely. We enjoyed the exploring we did around Point Arena. We recommend going to: the town historical pier; Stornetta public lands trail; Pelican Bluffs trail; Bryan Preserve (zebras, giraffes, antelope); Arena Market; Bowling Ball Beach (at Schooner Gulch).
Quite, private, gracious host
Host Sequoia was beyond charming and very helpful, when I mentioned I had some re-flux and asked for directions to town, he offered some of his own TUMS... turns out he actually ran into town for me! Wow, over and above. Site is beautiful and private. Rustic... good clean water and full 30 amp RV hookups, sewer also, we dumped when we left but could have been hooked the whole time. Driveway to the spot is pretty steep and a bit rough, glad I had a big 4x4 to tow my trailer in and out. Spot itself is huge, not entirely level but our rig was able to handle the small slope. Only downside is that we could hear a local rifle range on Saturday morning. The range is obviously a few miles away, but the wind was right and we could hear it, though not loud. On Sunday, the wind had shifted, and while we could tell the range was still active, but we had to strain to hear it. Pt Arena is a super cute town and I highly recommend this host and destination.
Can't wait to go back!
What a gem of a place! This place is amazing. 1 RV spot all to yourselves, surrounded by beautiful tall trees, a mix of sun and shade throughout the day, a fire pit and picnic table, and plenty to entertain a 1 year old AND with full hookups!?! Like what?! We are already working on plans for coming back. Sequoia, the host, is super nice, attentive and inviting!
