We welcome dry campers of all kinds here at Blue Sky Center. Whether you're in a Westy, an RV, or you're a car, motorcycle, bicycle, or tent camper, you and your adventuremobile are welcome here. The per person fee entitles you to access to all of our camper amenities including clean restrooms and shower. You're welcome to relax the Khalili Cantina, socialize and cook over the fire at the main fire pit, or stretch out in one of our hammocks.

The main fire ring is large and is commonly the center of activity in the evening. A large grill is available to place over the fire for cooking, and a BBQ is available for cooking as well. Due to the high desert environment, we don't allow ground fires but you're welcome to bring your own fire pit or grill.

We have plenty of space here at Blue Sky Center and you're welcome to set up camp close to the main camp facilities or out on your own if you prefer some solitude here in our high desert valley.

We do not currently have hookups for RVs, so your vehicle must be self contained. If you intend to run a generator, we'll set you up in a spot where you'll have plenty of room and won't disturb the rest of camp.

Situated on 340 acres in the high desert, the Blue Sky Center is a great place to relax, stargaze, explore, or perhaps watch a few small planes come and go. It is an ideal basecamp for your activities in the area, which include the nearby Los Padres National Forest, Sierra Madre mountain range, Carrizo Plain National Monument, and Wind Wolves Preserve.

The Blue Sky Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rural impact center with the mission to regenerate the land, economy and community through equitable partnerships and share scalable models with other communities. We're placemaking our unique property for cross sector collaboration ranging from art and design, agriculture and food systems, and architecture.

At Blue Sky, we are striving to revitalize our local economy through our Explore Cuyama initiative. Learn more about the Cuyama Valley and seasonal activities by visiting our website under our "Stay" tab.

Blue Sky Camp is the perfect spot to getaway from the daily hustle and bustle of the city. It was a last minute plan so we couldn't get one of the Shelter Circles or the Bell Tents but we got a dispersed camping spot.

Upon arrival, Em showed us around and set us up in a great dispersed camping spot. A little far from the community area but we had our own restrooms and campfire which was perfect to sit by and gaze at the stars at night. We met the fellow campers and had a fun evening with a small talent show in the common area and celebrated the evening with music, dance and singing.

Em was very the perfect host who showed us around, told us about the different projects they are working on and set us up with the perfect wood for a campfire. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing weekend.

Blue Sky is doing amazing things! This will be a central hub for the community and artists in no time. We weren't expecting it to be so close to town/highway (one block) and there weren't any shady areas to pitch your tent. I think if it were a cooler season, and we had a larger group this would be a fun place to camp. However, we were looking for something with more of a nature vibe. If Blue Sky was tucked away a bit more that might have worked. You do have the option of camping in an open field/grassy areas but then you aren't close to the restrooms, communal fire, etc. The cabin on wheels you can rent are awesome and again, the thought/mission behind the organization is pretty amazing. Even though we didn't end up camping there (camped at Aliso down the road), I was happy to have paid/ contribute support towards what they are doing.

This was a great stop on our way down the coast! We reserved a disbursed camping spot and stayed in our van, but we were given access to the facilities like shower, restrooms and fire pit. The space was newly opened when we stayed so we want to go back when everything is up an running because it seems like it will be a great community hub for folks in New Cuyama and neighboring towns.

We rolled in quite late and the host was welcoming, gave us a quick tour of the essentials added some logs to the fire so our group could enjoy before hitting the hay. Our group of 4 had a camper van and tent so we set up near their "tent" area and had a great night's sleep. In the morning, my friend saw the biggest rainbow he has ever seen.

It looks like they are working on creating a shared kitchen space for guests. Looking forward to visiting to see how this beautiful property progresses!

Interesting project and place to check out. There isn't much going on unless there's an event. I would recommend booking while there to get a real sense of the place, don't go by the photos. A lot is still being worked on there. Better to go with a group. Bathrooms are great.

Wow. Blue Sky Center is truly special and I can't wait to go back. The dispersed camping is one of the best dispersed camping deals I've come across - for $15 you get access to fully functional bathroom facilities with hot water, a communal enclosed kitchen structure, giant group campfire (firewood = give a log, take a log) and are welcomed by other travelers and dreamers. The staff is amazing. Ask them about the projects they are working on, and the long-term goals of Blue Sky Center. Nearby, you can explore Carrizo Plains National Monument, the Los Padres National Forest just to the south, and I'm sure there's more that locals can recommend.

I visited to work remotely for a few days from my campervan, as there is full Verizon cell service which makes this possible. Vanlifers - this place is the perfect stop to treat yourself to a shower, to rest and relax, to read a book, to meet other rad people who have shared interests. Looking forward to my next visit. See you soon Blue Sky Center! 🌞

This place has some magical juju. I was on my way to LA for funeral and needed a place to crash for a night so I decided this would work. Upon arrival, Em showed me around and told me all about the programs they are doing for community. Then I met some of the other campers. One group took me in and took care of me! They were wonderful and welcoming, and understood that I was grieving. One of the women even stopped me from leaving so she could share a podcast with me that helped her through a similar situation.

When you drive in you think, what have I gotten into? But then you realize there's good karma here.

The dispersed camping is all about the Blue Sky Center, such a great place with communal kitchen and fire ring. Dispersed camping is out in the open so not much by way of privacy. We were in a van so worked out perfectly. The host was super and it's always nice to meet people working for positive change in rural communities.
