Main Stage Left Camp and Main Stage Right Camp are located in our concert bowl where we usually put the Main Stage. The concert bowl is beautifully maintained, grassy, and flat. Each of these sites have access to electricity (standard 110 outlet).
The Black Oak Ranch has hosted music festivals on our beautifully 150 acre property for almost 30 years, including The Hog Farm Pignic, Earthdance, The Kate Wolf Music Festival, and the inaugural Hog Farm Hangout scheduled for next year. For the first time, we are opening up our festival site for private camping. Conveniently located just off of Highway 101 in Mendocino County, The Black Oak Ranch is home to majestic old oak trees, leafy bay groves, and Ten Mile Creek which is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. The Black Oak Ranch has an abundance of wildlife including deer, raptors, and our newest residents a family of beavers! Please note: our property is conveniently located just off of Highway 101 and you will hear noise from the highway.
Campsites are on flat terrain and can accommodate cars or RVs. All campsites have shade most or all of the day. The creek is a short walk away from each campsite. Please plan on making your site your own by bringing your own setups, gas-powered camp stoves, etc. We will provide a 6' table and some folding chairs to get you started. We suggest bringing a festive table cover. No wood or charcoal BBQs due to high fire danger. Gas fire bowls are allowed as long as they are not placed on grass (we can help you place them). Each campsite has access to a private, clean Porta Pottie. We do not offer showers at this time. Ten Mile creek is great for wading and some parts of the creek depending on the year are swimmable. Our campsite hosts will be able to direct you to the current swimming holes on the creek. Fires are not permitted on the property at this time. Kids 12 and under are free. All kids must be counted in your stable family bubble. One one stable bubble per campsite. Per Mendocino County Health Ordinance, stable family bubbles must be from the same household, living unit, or Household Support Unit are limited to six total guests including children per campsite.
We are open and accepting reservations. However, please be advised we may need to cancel and refund reservations due to COVID-19. Right now we are accepting reservations Thursday-Monday each week, but if you'd like to come on another day please message us and we will do our best to accommodate.

We actually ended up staying at the Maple Tree camp instead of Main Stage camp so this is a review for that campsite specifically as well as the grounds overall!
We LOVED our time at Black Oak Ranch so much!! The land is absolutely gorgeous, the most incredible trees and wildlife (birds and frogs specifically), wonderful weather, and a great river day! We loved the Maple Tree site because it felt private and had sun later in the day than anywhere else on the property.
I HIGHLY recommend camping at Black Oak Ranch! You will love your stay!

We found this facility last minute when our reservations at Hendy Woods State Park were abruptly cancelled because of a water main break in the campground. Absolute Seredipity!
The Black Oak Ranch land is primarily set up for music festivals and large events; but now during downtime it offers 12 secluded camping spots, each with what seems to be it’s very own freshly serviced porta-pottie with hand sanitizer. I am not sure if that is the actual plan, but at the very least there is a plethora of nice and clean porta-potties available along with potable water. A large fire extinguisher is provided at each campsite. Campfires are not allowed which is prudent and typical for California this time of year, but gas fire bowls are welcome. It is all very well thought out. As the name suggests, the riparian terrain is covered with majestic, Spanish moss-bedecked, centuries-old black oaks. There were numerous limpid swimming holes in the creek the land boarders even though it is the dry season here. The creek must be spectacular in the late spring. Frogs, dragonflies, and butterflies are ubiquitous. Exquisite stargazing! And the place has a mellow hippy vibe which is totally our scene. Finally, the COVID protocols implemented were appropriate, mindful, and reassuring.
The only possible critique would be one can hear the traffic from Hwy 101 which sandwiches the land between the creek, but it really was not a big issue for us. And as is typical for most Hipcamp sites, the price one pays for major solitude is having to travel to any major hiking trails, although the acreage at Black Oak Ranch was plenty large for wandering about.
We will definitely be returning to this one! I suspect it will go “High Demand” quickly.

The Camp Host this weekend was Rey. (And Nate) Rey was friendly and welcoming. We felt that if we needed anything he would help. I highly recommend Black Oak Ranch!
What an amazing stay! Beautiful property, awesome swimming on the campsite and around the area. So peaceful! The camp is spread out and very safe for social distancing as compared to state/ national park sites. The veggie/ flower box was out of this world amazing! So much food to eat! I loved staying here. Thank you so much, I have no complaints what so ever.

Beautiful location, the star gazing was spectacular, campsite nicely spaced out. Everything was well thought out to reduce the risk of Covid. Kids loved the water and all of the yummy black berries. Would definately rent again.
Staying at Black Oak Ranch (Event center/Private Camping) was unique and enjoyable! After reserving online, Biasha (facility host) gave me a call to provide clear directions to the facility and what to expect when we arrived. Super personable and helpful. This is a large site with grassy areas to camp. We enjoyed our short stay and appreciated the warm (and Covid safe) welcome from the onsite staff, Ray & Nate.
Beautiful, private location. You won't find a camp spot in California more convenient and accessible and yet private with minimal noise from other campers. Close proximity to a mellow swimming hole was perfect on a hot day with our 4 year old. Can't wait to come back!
