THERE IS A COMPOST TOILET. Please review the rules for this. It is similar to an outhouse but different.

This site includes it's own private hot tub! You will get a view of Mount Palomar, Temecula Valley and the Sunset as the hot tub is on the South West side of the property.

You also have the only site with shade on the entire property.

While this is not glamping, this site is very different from our other sites on property (please refer to "High Desert Look Out & Baby Goats!" especially if you have a big tent or more than 3 people).

IF available at check in we will include 4 of our farm fresh, organic chicken eggs from our chickens. The perfect amount for breakfast. Unfortunately as we come into winter chickens do not lay eggs every day so we cannot guarantee that there will be eggs through winter.

This is a smaller site. Only intended for 1 tent (max diameter of 12') I only allow up to 3 people at this site. No exceptions (please do not message me asking to make exceptions to this rule, look at my other listing) as this site is smaller and does not have room for a large tent or multiple tents and this is not a family friendly site. It is meant to be more intimate. Most of it is on a slope except for where the tent and hot tub will be.

You can see the sunrise over the mountains and the sunsets are usually spectacular! In the morning around 6:30-7:00am you can see hot air balloons lift off from the wineries in Temecula Valley on the west side of the property.

Play with my Nigerian Dwarf Goats (they are a miniature breed) and their babies! You can hear my roosters crow in the morning (and at night!! Roosters have no respect for quiet time. If this bothers you, bring ear plugs. We sell good quality wax ear plugs for $2/pair)

You can also hold our American Chinchilla Rabbit. His name is Buckly and he loves cuddles. For a treat you can give him leafy vegetables like lettuce.

We have firewood, ice, charcoal, water and other items available for purchase. We are not a commercial farm. This is closer to a homestead, run by two people who have full time jobs that pay the bills. We don't have staff or workers. Everything is done by us. We have about 40 trees on the property, the majority of which are California Pepper Trees, or pink peppercorn. We are not a commercial hot pepper grower. We don't sell produce to campers. We are 25 minutes away from any stores. We accept cash, PayPal or Venmo on site.

It is so quiet you can hear the crow's wings flapping as they fly by. You may see field mice, Barn owls, rabbits, squirrels, road runners, small lizards, coyotes and other desert animals. This does include the occasional snake. We have recently discovered a family of Kangaroo Rats has made their home here which we are very excited about as they are endangered. (They are not actually related to rats but to gophers despite the name)

We also have new neighbors and typically around sunset you will get to hear one of their children practice the trumpet and have band practice with the trumpet and drums. They are very dedicated but band practice only lasts 1-2 hours. We love to support hobbies like this in the local youth!... Yes, we wish we could turn it off too but it's better than death metal

For current, local events that may be of interest follow us on Facebook where I share news/events from Temecula wineries. Just look for "Bierbaum Pepper Farm."

We are less than 15 minutes away from Temecula Wine Country with over 50 wineries in the area. We can tell you which are dog friendly as we go to those often.

Lake Skinner and French Valley Wildlife Preserve are 15 minutes away.

Diamond Valley Lake is 30 minutes away and is a great hike to see desert wild flowers when they are blooming in the spring. It is famous for the Super Bloom that you could see from space! I highly suggest you Google it.

We have a fire pit at the campsite when there is no fire ban but you MUST check out a fire extinguisher and review the fire safety rules before using the fire pit.

There is a charcoal BBQ grill in the common area that is available. Bring your own charcoal or purchase a bag from us. DO NOT use firewood in the charcoal grill.

We have a common area/garden where you can sit with a beer or watch the sunrise with coffee. This includes a picnic table and other outdoor seating. This campsite is the closest site to the common area where other campers congregate.

We also have a drinking water fountain and mobile charging station in the common area for your phones. WiFi is available in the common areas. It may extend to your site but no guarantees.

Keep in mind that the price reflects the amenities here. This is not glamping but it is a step above the other primitive campsites that we offer on the property.

We are in wine country and charging $65/night. A room out here is no less than $200/night in the off season (average cost is $350+). This is for the experienced camper that doesn't need or want amenities. This is camping, not glamping. We are happy to host first time campers. Just make sure you talk to experienced campers first to understand what it's really like.

For first time campers, this site is the closest site to the house which will give an added sense of security.

We limit the number of campers and sites on the property so you can enjoy your experience with peace and a sense of solitude. There are only 7 camp sites on 11 acres so that you can spread out and enjoy the peace without being over crowded.

We have a solar shower! The temperature of the water depends on how much sun we get that day so early morning showers will be cold! Check the temperature of the water before stepping under because it can get very hot or cold! Also realize the hot water is limited and it will take a couple hours before it will heat up again between showers. Showers will only be warm for 5-7 minutes.

True campers leave no trace behind. Clean up after yourselves and be respectful of our home. Only bring guests who can do the same.

This was the perfect get away for me and my boyfriend. Having the private hot tub, watching the sunset from it! Then we relaxed as one by one, the stars appeared. It was magical.
We could heard the running fountain which lulled us to sleep.
Even though the site is close to the common area, there were trees between us that gave a sense of privacy.
The herb garden was an unexpected bonus. I picked some basil to have with our tomatoes.
Marcella was super accommodating. It's obvious she works hard to make us feel welcome and I will definitely use this site again.

I was very happy with this spot. I needed some "me" time and a night out of the city. Just a quick trip but it was exactly what I needed.
I went during the week so the campground was empty.
The hosts kept to themselves so once check in was complete I felt entirely alone and in my own little world.
I turned off the heater in the hot tub and it was the perfect spot to relax. The fresh eggs were delicious. Highly recommend.

I LOVED camping here. Site has private jacuzzi and outdoor shower. Goats were cute and we're able to feed them. They also have hammocks with little water misters nearby so you can cool off. There's a corn hole game nearby. They provided a fire extinguisher just in case especially since they have fire pits for each site. They have really planned out the amenities they provide. It is very clean. Bathroom was clean. The only ugly thing that happened to me was I got bit by a big black ant and some type of mouse looking animal went into our tent and I had to sleep in the car. So i suggest to always have your tent zipped up. Besides that, overall it was a great camping trip and I will definitely book again in the future.

Thank you for the review and I'm sorry to hear about your run in with our Kangaroo Rats! lol. We have a family of Kangaroo Rats (named rat but they are actually related to gophers) that have moved in and we're actually really excited to see them on the property because they are endangered. I plan on writing a blog about it soon online. They are harmless but are also very curious and will get into trash, tents, etc. Besides that I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and I hope we get to see you again soon!

Awesome spot! The hot tub was such a treat, we watched sunset from it and also took a dip at dawn that was complete bliss. We LOVED the goats, they are truly adorable (Poblano is my favorite). Thank you for the fresh eggs!

We had a lovely time staying here! I loved what Marcella is doing with her environmentally thoughtful homestead - the solar shower, compostable toilet...water from a well!
There is a small shared herb garden & she gave us freshly laid eggs - so generous!
The goats are so rad! I really enjoyed giving them treats & watching them interact with one another. Poblano quickly became my favorite.
The camp spot here, even though close to house, felt plenty private enough for us. The pepper trees are there giving you some separation. Marcella greeted us to give us the lay of the land, but she gave us space the rest of the time. We never really used the common areas as we travel with everything we needed, & camp to keep up with current social distancing practices, but knowing those amenities (such as misters, hammocks & a charcoal grill) were available was comforting. Even though we travelled with our own toilet it was nice to know the compostable one was available. She keeps it sanitized often, but leaves the cleaning products there so you can do your own as well.
Vineyards are so close by & Marcella let us know that we could grab a Lyft if we wanted to visit any of them - & she even gave us recommendations based on wines I like!
The view from the hot tub was amazing & exactly the sweet little getaway needed right now. Gorgeous birds flying, lots of bunnies & lizards - we'll plan another trip back for sure!

We had a great time at our campsite! Granted it was extremely HOT, but Marcella had a splash pad and some misters over the hammock that helped keep you cool which was really nice. We ended up driving to Lake Perris to get into some water, which was only an hour away! Due to the heat, we weren’t able to have our own fire pit, but we were able to use the charcoal grill in the common area for our meals. Getting to hang with the goats, chickens, and bunnies was a huge plus! We also had our own Jacuzzi! It was really nice to watch the sunset from there, but it was still too hot to really enjoy it. We definitely would come back, maybe once it is a little cooler!

I'm so glad that you had fun despite the heat and that you stuck it out. At 115 degrees that weekend you were troopers! Hopefully we will see you back around December when it's cooler (and my goats have all their babies!) Or in the spring when the property is COVERED in wild flowers. Thank you for being such great guests 🥰
