Play with baby goats, eat fresh eggs and enjoy the amazing views! You are on top of a hill on 11 acres in the high desert bordered by mountains in this beautiful valley. You can see the sunrise over the mountains and the sunsets are usually spectacular! In the morning around 7:00am you can see hot air balloons lift off from the wineries in Temecula Valley.
Enjoy watching the sunset from our hot tub! This is by far the most popular attraction besides the baby goats. The hot tub is chlorinated.
You can hear my roosters crow in the morning (and at night, roosters have no respect for quiet time) and our Nigerian Dwarf Goats beg for treats and attention. You are welcome to play with the baby goats and chicks when we show you around. I have treats you can give the goats and get pictures with them.
You can purchase Organic Farm Fresh eggs that we sell $4/dozen (ask me how to get up to 2 dozen eggs free when you check in!!) In the late spring/early summer we will have hot peppers grown from hydroponics and other vegetables/produce available for purchase, all locally grown in Temecula or on our farm.
It is so quiet you can hear the crows wings flapping as they fly by. You will see field mice, rabbits, squirrels, road runners, small lizards and other desert animals.
For current, local events that may be of interest follow us on Face Book or go to our website. Just search for Bierbaum Pepper Farm.
We are less than 15 minutes away from Temecula Wine Country with over 50 wineries in the area. We can tell you which are dog friendly as we go to those often.
Lake Skinner and French Valley Preserve are 15 minutes away.
Diamond Valley Lake is 30 minutes away and is a great hike to see desert wild flowers. It is famous for the Super Bloom that you could see from space! I highly suggest you Google it.
Lake Elsinore, Mt. San Jacinto, Palomar Mountain, Los Coyotes Reservation, San Diego Safari Park, etc. are less than an hour drive away.
San Diego, L.A. and Joshua Tree National Park are all 1.5 hours away. We are centrally located to a LOT of fun places.
We have portable fire pits that you can take back to your campsite IF there is no wind and IF there are no local fire bans in effect. There is a charcoal BBQ grill in the common area that is available. Bring your own charcoal or purchase a bag from us. DO NOT use firewood in the charcoal grill.
We have a common area/garden where you can sit with a beer or watch the sunrise with coffee. For hot afternoons we have misters on the sun shade so you can cool off after a day of hiking, exploring or wine tasting.
Keep in mind that the price reflects the amenities here. We are in wine country and charging $40/night. A room out here is no less than $200/night and there are other hipcamps in the area between $60-$160/night. This is for the camper that doesn't need or want amenities. It's undeveloped land. You can explore the property and camp where you want but we will point out the best spots.
We limit the number of campers so you can enjoy the property with peace and solitude. We do not have developed/maintained campsites at this time. You get to explore to discover the spot you want! If they were developed sites, I would charge more. This also means that to get a good site you should get here before sunset. Campers who try to set up in the dark (it is very dark out here) usually wake up disappointed. The site are first come, first serve but please, respect the space of other campers and make sure to set up camp away from other campers unless invited. There are 11 acres here to spread out on.
We have just installed a solar shower! The temperature of the water depends on how much sun we get that day so early morning showers will be cold! Check the temperature of the water before stepping under because it can get very hot or cold! Also realize the hot water is limited and it will take a couple hours before it will heat up again between showers. Showers will only be warm for 5-10 minutes.
If you bring friends, make sure you give them the link to the listing so they know what to expect! This isn't glamping and if you sell it to them like it is then they will be disappointed, you will have a bad trip when they whine about it and it's not fair to us if they leave a bad review because they expected glamping when we are very straight forward about the amenities and what we offer.

Marcella was an amazing communicator and was quick to answer any questions I had, she even sent photos of shaded areas on the property upon request!!!!! I was impressed at how Marcella readily went above and beyond to accommodate me.
Oh my goodness, baby goats!!!!!! Way too cute, and rather friendly too!
We had a great time! The jacuzzi during sunset is pretty incredible and the communication with Marcella was a breeze. We were the only guests during our stay so it was a very private experience which was an added bonus. Thank you for sharing your lovely space with us.
Had a wonderful time here. Marcella was so nice, spending time with us and introducing us to her goats and chickens! We had no problems finding their driveway...just drive slow and you can’t miss the black mailbox with the address on the pole. We would go back again! Thank you Marcella and David!!!
Marcella & David were very accommodating. We only got to spend a night at the pepper farm, but it treated us to a gorgeous sunset and a starry night sky. The goats are hilarious!
Totally amazing place. The view is so spectacular. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the sunset was one of the best experiences of my life. I stayed in that tub for so long watching the stars. JUST WOW.
We had a great time at Marcella and David's! The hot tub was definitely a highlight- the view of the sunset over the mountains from the tub was incredible. Additionally, our hosts were very communicative and helpful, responding quickly to our messages and assisting us with whatever we needed. The only thing I would tell someone thinking of camping here is that it does feel very wide open- while there is a lot of space to set up camp, there is very little tree coverage so it doesn't exactly feel secluded. That said, for the price, and considering the amenities that were available and the natural beauty of the surroundings, we were very pleased with this campsite!
I was here Friday night and left Sunday morning. It was a nice, quite place. We kept most to ourselves the whole time but the view was beautiful. Good place to have random small hikes.
Marcella was a lovely host! She allowed us to check in early and gave a brief tour of her property. It was raining upon our arrival and she happily offered us her popup tent as additional shelter from the storm. The jacuzzi was heated to 104F and provided an alluring escape from the cold weather! This Hipcamp location is perfect for anyone looking for a quick getaway with the comforts of amenities! Great camp to add a rustic spin to the classic wine country experience.
