Such a wonderful camp! We booked on short notice and Nathan was able to accommodate us easily. He and his dog gave us a quick tour in the dark, bestowed upon us fresh veggies, and then let us get set up.

When we awoke it was to gorgeous green land and redwoods. The old burned out first growth redwood trunks are still awesome, and the other second and third growth trees made it feel green and lush. We only saw two banana slugs at our camp--my husband is revolted by them and so I was worried he would have to interact with them more than he did, haha. I think they're pretty cool, myself! Ha.

Camp is 20 minutes from Mendocino, 40 minutes from MacKerricher SP and 30ish from Ft. Bragg. Was the perfect place to have as our base. We ate at a few great restaurants along the coast, but enjoyed being able to use the firepit to cook in our dutch oven!

Definitely will be back. Also the washing area and composting toilet are awesome additions.

Here's everything that was set up at the camp for us. Cooked on the firepit, definitely buy the $10 firewood! One of the only slugs I saw at camp! the garden goods Nathan brought us

First off, Nathan is a warm and kind host. He greeted us as friends and we instantly felt like local community. Nathan is from the area and it seems like he knows everyone in town (and the next town and the next). He knows of all that is happening in the area and can turn you on to different kinds of activities. We especially enjoyed checking out his shop in Mendocino (Anderson's Alternatives) where he showcases sustainably harvested wood as well as custom made furniture. We'll definitely be back, as Nathan has big plans for the camp spot, including teaming up with a local chef to provide a culinary/nature experience. Although the spot is still rustic, we recommend Baby Banana Slug Farm and encourage others to get a taste of Nathan's welcoming personality.

My girlfriend and I stayed three nights at Baby Banana Slug Farm and we had a wonderful experience. The property itself is gorgeous and it is conventionally located to access many of Mendocino County's best attractions. During our stay there, we spent one lovely day in Fort Bragg were we got lunch and then walked around the beautiful 47 acre Mendocino Botanical Garden. The next day way spent canoeing on Big River; curiosity of the amazing Catch A Canoe (which also does bike rentals).
Nathan was an awesome host. He was very kind, considerate, and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. He provided us with the option to purchase firewood, which we did. The wood and kindling was of great quality, and was conveniently waiting for us in the campsite upon arrival. Nathan even gifted us some gorgeous, fresh vegetables from the garden that we cooked on our camp stove and thoroughly enjoyed.
Nathan did a fine job at preparing the campsite to accommodate his guests. The site is nestled in a private corner of his property that is surrounded by majestic redwood trees. In the site is a burnt, old redwood that has a perfect space for standing and offers a unique perspective of the sky. The campsite also has a hose and nearby sink that are extremely convenient for doing dishes and other tasks. Nathan has some great ideas to further develop the site in the near future, that will still leave the natural beauty intact. Overall, my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience and we would love to come stay again soon.

View from the handcrafted canoe we rented not too far from Baby Banana Slug farm. Catch a Canoe (and bicycles too) is a chill place and has fair prices.Amazing fresh produceOutdoor sinkClearing in trees above campsite offers for areas of both sun and shade. Also great for viewing the stars at night.

Such a lovely spot! The photos really don't do it justice. Nathan has set up a perfect camping area that's far enough away from his house that you feel like you're camping in secluded woods, but close enough that if you need to use the fancier outhouse facilities (including a tub with hot water!) that are near it you can walk up to them easily. There's also a raudamentery outhouse, running water from a hose, AND a little sink right at the site too. PLUS, when we got there Nathan brought us a basket of fresh organic produce from their garden!! We will definitely be visiting this site again!

Nathan was a very attentive and accommodating host! We arrived late at night right after a rare summer thunderstorm. Not only did he offer us to stay in the cabin of his daughter for the first night, but he also made us a delightful breakfast the next morning. We really enjoyed the conversations over a freshly baked omelet with local zucchini. What an unexpected glamping experience!

The campsite was everything we were hoping for. Remote, authentic and more silent than any other place we've ever camped at before. We spent hours sitting around the fire pit and grilling food at night while enjoying the starts. (Don't forget your hammock!)

The site is very close to Mendocino, Fort Bragg, and lots of splendid hikes, and thus a perfect location for a weekend away. Thanks to the helpful tip of a previous reviewer, we also rented a canoe at Catch A Canoe on the Big River and we loved our time out on the water ($35pp/3 hours)! We barely saw any other canoers on the river and got to see lots of otters and other wildlife. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

Thank you for having us, Nathan. We hope to be back in the future!

This was the only campsite we found in this section of HWY 1 where there is NO traffic noise! Amazingly still and quiet, yet only 10 mins drive from Albion and 25 from Mendocino. Nathan was incredibly friendly and made us feel very safe and welcome. The woods are beautiful and the old redwood is stunning. It was great to have use of the toilet and sink, and we appreciated the fire ring and wood too. Not much cell service, if that bothers you, but lots of peace and very private. It was a nice change not having other campers around - made the place feel like a real retreat.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The site was very easy to find (despite no AT&T cell phone service), and we had no trouble getting set up. Nathan was a fantastic host and really went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable (even bringing us some fresh veggies from his garden). If you get to choose, go with Camp Site 1. It's a bit more private, has running water, and some flatter spots for pitching your tent.
The camp site is near Mendocino, so after breakfast we took a trip into town and spent the afternoon hiking and exploring. Loved everything about it.

Very nice location, close to Mendocino coast but with almost no noise or light pollution. Nathan and his mom personally greeted us and showed great hospitality!
