Site 1 + 2 are both on flat DG and split by a large bay leaf tree. Site 1 is nearest to the restroom and alongside a railroad tie retaining wall. Site 2 is nearest to the white barn and opens up to one side a bit more. Both are lovely. Site 2 is best for trailers but both will be sufficient. If trailer camping, please back in if possible. Firewood is available for campers staying 1 or 2 nights and for purchase for campers who have longer stays.
There is SO much to offer right in our neck of the woods and more to be discovered in surrounding cities. Fun and peaceful
My friends and I absolutely loved it here. The ambiance was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. Some really rad things were -
Large spacious bathroom with room to change clothes etc. Also was very clean!
There were also these lights that hung over the site that made it feel very festive and warm when it got dark.
Large area where they have Cornhole setup.
Would highly recommend this place!
Camping under twinkling lights
Our stay at the barn at Old Morro was amazing. April had farm fresh eggs waiting for us when we drove in, alongside a personal note with her family's favorites for the surrounding areas.
April came down to greet us after we had set up our tent and were cooking dinner under the twinkling lights. She was so kind and gave us additional tips for our adventures.
The property is beautiful and peaceful and the bathroom itself is worth staying there for, so cool! Definitely a must stay location if you are in the area.
Grounds are beautiful. The host April met us upon arrival and was welcoming and helpful. Sites are clearly marked. Both sites have everything you could need, from fire pit to wash bin to restroom. Site 2 had a lovely running stream to camp by. Quiet and peaceful but not too removed from town. Can't wait to return.
Great stay for your slo trip!
Really nice space near a seasonal creek. My first time using Hipcamp and I enjoyed it. I'm usually a crusty camper that goes for BLM land but my partner is the opposite (we'll get there). The site is not very "wild", since it has bathroom, outdoor lights (if you want them), and the host has a home about 500 feet away. In our case, we wanted something like this, so it was perfect. The whole site is beautiful and quiet. The bathroom is incredible--clean and bright, with plants and copper details. The host, April, was fantastic and gave us fresh eggs from her hens, kindling, firewood, and a sweet note with recommendations. The campfire is taller (to prevent wildfires I imagine) so keep that in mind if you plan to cook, make a tall fire. Even though the host provided firewood, I recommend buying some from a nearby store or bring an axe to chop it further. Thanks April--Would camp here again!
Great location, great host
April was a great host and the location was even better than expected. Our family had a great time and would definitely go back. Highly recommend the Barn at Old Morro!
Coastal mountain getaway
We drove in on a Monday for a relaxing little getaway. Upon driving in, I knew I’d love the place, the hills with native oaks surround the property and there’s even a small creek you can hear from the site. The host wrote a lovely note with camp instructions and ideas for dining and activities. Also notable were their own chickens’ fresh eggs in a bowl for us! The site is level and very tidy, amenities were even better than described. We camped in our 24’ trailer house and there was ample room for us without being crowded. The adjacent barn, restroom building, and the guesthouse are charming, stylishly minimally decorated in a modern farmhouse vibe, letting nature’s beauty show through. Relaxing while birds are singing and creek babbling is the best! We really enjoyed meeting the hosts, The Peets; genuine and warm and truly welcoming!
Hospitality at it's finest
I could not have asked for a better place to stay during my long trip half way across the country. The Peet family is absolutely wonderful, the place is even more beautiful than the pictures, and I felt so safe and at peace during my stay. This is hospitality at it's finest, thank you Peet family!
Beautiful spot, friendly host
Beautiful property, well equipped for glamping. Clean and tastefully decorated bathroom. Gravel driveway for parking campers and such, and you'll likely pitch your tents here if you're opposed to sleeping on a slope. Fire containers are good for heat but don't feel like "sitting around a fire." Open fires in the area are bad, so it's a good compromise. Overall excellent experience.
