Voted 2019's 7th best hipcamp in the state of California, The Barn + Cottage at Old Morro, is the perfect stop for your Central Coast adventure.  15 minutes to Morro Bay, 15 minutes to Paso Robles and 25 minutes to San Luis Obispo we are centrally located to all the local hot spots! Set in a beautiful spot at the lower end of our property under a mature and majestic grove of oak trees you'll find a charming cottage (max 2 adults) and space to host additional friends in their own RV (max of 4 adults). Booking this listing you are booking BOTH the cottage + additional RV room, one booking per group.

THE COTTAGE. Sleeps 2 adults. The cottage is fully furnished with a plush cal king bed and sitting area upstairs. Downstairs is a full kitchen, full bathroom and sitting area.  The cottage is tastefully appointed and equipped with all the amenities you'd need including wifi, streaming apps, service for 4, oven, refrigerator, spices and cooking/baking needs.

RV/COMMON AREAS. Room for two RV's/4 adults. Shaded under the oaks with pockets of warm sun is a beautiful white barn, an oversized sun deck and a stunning landscape. There is a fire pit (check for fire ban), lawn games, full BBQ and large table all to share in the terrace between the cottage and the RV spot. We have electricity + water hook ups for RV's if needed. Firewood is available for $8/bundle if fires are permitted, please check. Leashed pups are welcome for RV'ing but not in the cottage.  We love kids but find that our property is best enjoyed kid free. Our property is quiet, peaceful and, although close to town, feels quite removed. There is a seasonal creek that runs along the back side of the barn which often draws deer and wild turkey to our property.

If you'd like more info or are interested in hosting an event here at the Barn+Cottage please feel free to reach out via messaging. Also you can find more photos on instagram @thebarnatoldmorro!

If you're coming solo or just as a group of two and would prefer to rent the cottage only without bringing friends along you can find it listed under 'The Cottage at Old Morro' here on hipcamp.

My friends and I absolutely loved it here. The ambiance was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. Some really rad things were -

Large spacious bathroom with room to change clothes etc. Also was very clean!

There were also these lights that hung over the site that made it feel very festive and warm when it got dark.

Large area where they have Cornhole setup.

Would highly recommend this place!

Our stay at the barn at Old Morro was amazing. April had farm fresh eggs waiting for us when we drove in, alongside a personal note with her family's favorites for the surrounding areas.

April came down to greet us after we had set up our tent and were cooking dinner under the twinkling lights. She was so kind and gave us additional tips for our adventures.

The property is beautiful and peaceful and the bathroom itself is worth staying there for, so cool! Definitely a must stay location if you are in the area.

Farm fresh eggs gifted by the host.Dishes made easy with a hose, tub and dish soap.Peaceful place to read in the morning and enjoy coffee. The most dreamy sink to exist.

Grounds are beautiful. The host April met us upon arrival and was welcoming and helpful. Sites are clearly marked. Both sites have everything you could need, from fire pit to wash bin to restroom. Site 2 had a lovely running stream to camp by. Quiet and peaceful but not too removed from town. Can't wait to return.

Really nice space near a seasonal creek. My first time using Hipcamp and I enjoyed it. I'm usually a crusty camper that goes for BLM land but my partner is the opposite (we'll get there). The site is not very "wild", since it has bathroom, outdoor lights (if you want them), and the host has a home about 500 feet away. In our case, we wanted something like this, so it was perfect. The whole site is beautiful and quiet. The bathroom is incredible--clean and bright, with plants and copper details. The host, April, was fantastic and gave us fresh eggs from her hens, kindling, firewood, and a sweet note with recommendations. The campfire is taller (to prevent wildfires I imagine) so keep that in mind if you plan to cook, make a tall fire. Even though the host provided firewood, I recommend buying some from a nearby store or bring an axe to chop it further. Thanks April--Would camp here again!

We drove in on a Monday for a relaxing little getaway. Upon driving in, I knew I’d love the place, the hills with native oaks surround the property and there’s even a small creek you can hear from the site. The host wrote a lovely note with camp instructions and ideas for dining and activities. Also notable were their own chickens’ fresh eggs in a bowl for us! The site is level and very tidy, amenities were even better than described. We camped in our 24’ trailer house and there was ample room for us without being crowded. The adjacent barn, restroom building, and the guesthouse are charming, stylishly minimally decorated in a modern farmhouse vibe, letting nature’s beauty show through. Relaxing while birds are singing and creek babbling is the best! We really enjoyed meeting the hosts, The Peets; genuine and warm and truly welcoming!

View from the deck near restroomEvening viewTables provided for both sites under a huge native bay laurel treeA quick peek inside the barn, a great space available for separate rental, perfect for artists, photographers

I could not have asked for a better place to stay during my long trip half way across the country. The Peet family is absolutely wonderful, the place is even more beautiful than the pictures, and I felt so safe and at peace during my stay. This is hospitality at it's finest, thank you Peet family!

Beautiful property, well equipped for glamping. Clean and tastefully decorated bathroom. Gravel driveway for parking campers and such, and you'll likely pitch your tents here if you're opposed to sleeping on a slope. Fire containers are good for heat but don't feel like "sitting around a fire." Open fires in the area are bad, so it's a good compromise. Overall excellent experience.

Thanks for the stay Ben. Now that the ground is drying up we plan on leveling things out a bit. I appreciate the feedback!
