Pitch camp, settle in, and relax on our beautiful 5.5 acre rustic farmstead, nestled in the cozy hills of Aromas, CA! We are just minutes away from Highway 101, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Our property features sweeping majestic views toward the coast of Monterey and down toward Big Sur. The land features walking trails up toward a beautiful oak grove at the ridge of the property, and down the other side into several acres of wilderness. We are located about 15 minutes from the ocean at Moss Landing, and 30 to 45 minutes away from Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel and Santa Cruz.

Our main campsite is large enough to pitch a 6-person tent (15'x15'), or two smaller (2-3 person) tents. The site features a large shared fire pit and grill, plenty of folding chairs, and a shared picnic table which can comfortably seat 6. We have a composting toilet and portable toilet for guest use, an outdoor sink with hot water, and a semi-enclosed “indoor/outdoor” shower with plenty of hot water and pressure.

Whether you’re passing through on a road trip along California’s majestic landscape, or looking to spend some time getting to know the lush landscape of the Central Coast, we welcome you with open arms!

Please note:

We are a nonprofit educational eco-arts farm and your booking supports environmental stewardship and arts education for underserved communities. Thank you for your support!

We place the highest value on respect--for the land, and for the people, plants, and animals that call this area home. While you are here, please consider yourself a partner in stewarding this place.

Strict Quiet Hours: Please be very conscientious of our neighbors --no loud noise or music after 10pm.

Strict Fire Safety Rules: Campfires must be attended at all times, and extinguished fully with water provided.

Dogs/Pets: Several friendly dogs live on the property. Please let us know ahead of time if you intend to bring dogs. Dogs need to be leashed and supervised at all times. Our property is not fully fenced, and there are sensitive habitats.

Parking is limited. Please let us know if you are arriving in more than one vehicle.

Our whole property is on a slope with dirt paths --wear good walking shoes!

What a gem! This site is incredibly picturesque, removed enough that you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but only about 10 minutes from the 101. The family are so sweet and accommodating, they have created a great site! There’s running water and a bathroom and a shower, a great fire pit area and lounge/hammock space to hang out. The site has two yurts that we didn’t stay in but looked so fun and in a nice side area. They’re starting to develop an awesome farm area and we will definitely be back to see what they’re growing!

The owners of the property are very nice but the listing doesn’t show how closely you camp to their property. The tent site is very close to their cabin, which we weren’t expecting because they describe the property as a 5+ acre spread.

The listing makes it sound like you can explore the 5 acres of property but on arrival, one of the hosts told us that the walking paths are covered in poison oak.

The tent site itself is not leveled but the listing describes it as flat, so be prepared to sleep at a slight angle.

If you are planning to bring two cars, communicate with the host beforehand. We weren’t told to bring only one car but the parking situation was limited.

The listing shows a campfire and picnic table but doesn’t say it’s shared with two yurts.

Thanks so much Sarah for booking our campsite, it was great to have you and your party! I wanted to address a couple of points in your review, and to let you know that we have made some slight alterations to our profile per your suggestions. Your party was advised that the timing of your stay coincided with the annual proliferation of Poison Oak in California. We suggested that you keep a close watch out for Poison Oak, especially if your party was interested in exploring the back acreage of our property. All our guests are welcome to explore the property, you were simply given a warning about the presence of Poison Oak in our back forest. Your booking request specified that your party was bringing one vehicle on-site. We were notified by you in the course your stay that your booking was inaccurate, and that you needed an additional parking space for a second vehicle. We were able to make the appropriate accommodations for you and your party. We have added to our listing that parking is limited on-site, and that booking requests must reflect accurate head counts and vehicle counts. Our listing has always specified that the fire pit is a communal space, though we acknowledge that Hipcamp's user interface does make this piece of information difficult to find if you're not looking for it. We have reiterated the information in our profile to make it more clear. And finally, we do live on-site here, and we make it a point to be present and available for questions or concerns while campers are arriving and settling in. If your party had concerns regarding the site where your tent was pitched, and if you had asked, we would have been happy to offer you two alternative tent sites which may have been more to your liking. Again, thanks for staying with us Sarah, and for providing us with helpful feedback. Feel free to stay here again anytime in the future, we look forward to having you!

Very nice people, with a great fire pit and they offer you fire wood the whole time which is nice. The camping area is not very secluded and is on a small slope which makes it difficult to sleep on at times. They do provide a hot shower outside which is great.

Rachel was extremely friendly and easy to communicate with. She met us when we arrived to show us around and then gave us our space. The farm is an exciting project on a nice piece of land. Would definitely stay again!

It is a beautiful, rustic location with a scenic view. We found it peaceful and relaxing. The yurt is nicely furnished and comfortable. The location provided easy drives to Monterey, Santa Cruz, and a afternoon drive along the Big Sur coast.
The hosts are extremely pleasant and helpful. The farm and hosts are part of Terra Culture, a Green organization that works to provide education on sustainable agriculture. It is an admirable project.

This is a cute little site in the hills about 20 minutes from the coast. Travis was a friendly, accomodating, and communicative host. The site includes a small garden, a yurt, and two small homes close to a horse stable and a beautiful eucalyptus grove. Where we were able to pitch our tent was a bit closer to the home than I expected, but we definitely had our privacy and easy use of the space.
