Off-grid living at its finest! Along Elliot creek- headwaters to the Rogue River- Only three miles from Applegate Lake, tucked into the hillside on a gated road, this place is a relaxing, rustic retreat!

With unique cabins, a dome greenhouse, treehouse, a converted schoolbus, magical outdoor spaces and camping sites, we host a variety of travelers throughout the year. Our property is totally off-grid utilizing solar energy for lights, running water, wifi and power. Enjoy our hot solar shower and Elliott creek baths, woodstoves (for heat & cooking) and organic veggies in our seasonal garden!

We believe in a sustainable lifestyle and are looking forward to sharing our home with likeminded adventurers!

The Ivy Cabin has running cold water, electricity for charging devices or powering a small speaker, an amazing wood stove for heating and cooking, and a sweet loft space with a unique library ladder! There isn't a fridge in the cabin but you'll notice that the long cabinet by the sink (a vegetable cellar) keeps things decently cool throughout the year.

It has a double size mattress in the loft, and a comfy futon mattress downstairs. The cabin is clean but fairly rustic, and while we provide folded clean linens and towels in a cabinet - please bring your own sheets, sleeping bags, towels, etc!!

The Ivy cabin is close to the main house, communal deck, picnic table, parking area and awesome solar shower. The meditation areas and creek side communal fire ring are down by the creek. Ivy Cabin renters will have a short walk to get to the outhouse (a simple, composting, sawdust type).

> The Land

Beautiful Elliott Creek is the headwaters of the Rogue River and runs through the property. It is ideal for water playing, floating, and fishing. Applegate Lake is only minutes away, but we are in a private, safe, quiet little community of 6 houses beyond a locked gate*,  surrounded by National Forest land. We're just 5 minutes from Applegate Lake, 45 minutes from Medford, and 30 minutes away from the closest town (Ruch, Oregon).

Our property is filled with moss, ferns, mushrooms, flowers, endless blackberries, and a seasonal organic edibles garden with a geodesic dome greenhouse.  The whole place is a catalogue of greenery, each shade blending together in a magnificent, living art piece.

***Upon booking we send an easy to follow map with the padlock gate code.***

> Our Offerings

- We have certified (AMAZING) artisan well water available in all the spigots around the property.

- Guests are welcome to forage in the garden and greenhouse, snacking on whatever is growing (seasonal). **Please keep the garden gate closed at all times to keep out the pesky deer. Pets are not allowed in the garden, please!! Also, please do not eat anything unless you are 100% sure of what it is!

- Walk/hike the trails on the forest service land nearby. There are some amazing hikes from the property, including a couple National Forest trails that are in-accessible to the public due to the gate. Our roads also link up with the Pacific Crest Trail and Siskiyou Crest Trails near Bloomfield Pass.

- There are plenty of places to sit, reflect, read, and relax throughout the property. Explore and find your favorite spot!

- Enjoy campfires in the fire pit (see rules below).

***Please Note: There is no cell phone reception anywhere on the property, but we do have reliable wifi and use email and Facebook messenger to stay in contact while out here.  Our wifi is not suitable, though, for streaming or downloading.

> General Rules

Fires are only allowed in the large communal fire pit on the main property, but are strictly forbidden during peak fire danger season. Firewood is available for purchase upon request. We have a bucket near the pit so that you can fill it in the creek in case of emergency.

Pets are welcome if they are well-behaved and friendly with other animals. Please let us know if you will be bringing any animals or pets! We have lots of wildlife in the area so we don't recommend letting your dog loose unless you are sure they won't chase. Of course, find a shovel or dispose of pet waste on the property!

The garden space is strictly off limits to animals, besides Pumpkin- the resident cat on the property. This includes all pets -- even if they are well-behaved.  If you choose to forage in the garden, be mindful of everything that's growing and only eat plants that you can 100% identify.

- There is also an incredible 60ft. high tree house on the property which is off-limits to guests at this time.

Pack In, Pack Out. If you forget trash bags, we can offer paper bags for you to pack out your waste.

Eco-friendly soap only, please. We deeply care for the land here and would like to maintain it by keeping toxic products away.

> About Us

Currently, our friends Jordan and Ryan are living at the property for the year, maintaining the garden and greeting guests. They will respond to your requests, messages, and will be your point of contact (unless, of course, we pop on to say hi!). They are happy to give you a tour of the land and garden whenever they are home. When we are here, we stay around the main house. We also host occasional WWOOFers and work/trade volunteers on the property.

We like to give visitors their privacy but we can give guidance to surrounding hikes, best fishing spots, etc!

We absolutely love this place and are grateful to Johan, who has loved and landscaped this property for over 10 years. The land here is so rich, which is why we want to share it with guests who respect nature as well!

> Information Regarding COVID-19:

These are unprecedented times and we are doing our best to offer our natural retreat mindfully and safely. With that, we ask that guests maintain social distancing, leave no trace, and focus on restoring your health and heart while staying in this beautiful place. We will be deeply disinfecting the cabin between each stay (wearing masks and gloves) to do our part in being conscientious during this time. This also includes disinfecting common areas (i.e. the outhouse).

Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions that would make you feel more comfortable during your stay.

Two words: geodesic paradise!

Johan is a builder, specializing in geodesic domes and there are several on the property in various uses. He's a creative genius because there's a lot of neat design touches everywhere. The Ivy Guesthouse for example has a vintage library ladder on a neat pulley system that's weighed by a big rock.

We love the variety of hangout spots...a relaxing hammock by the creek, sandy beaches, decks and handmade wooden benches, a sweet edible garden (where you can pick strawberries to eat!), and a fire pit. So many ways to slow down and relax!

The drive here was also breathtaking. We drove on a road that winds around Applegate Lake with several stopping points for a dip. Johan's place is just a little past the lake, on a private drive that follows a creek. If you like trees, water, and a unique setting this is the place!

Beautiful, quaint, unique!Campfire hangout by the creek. The best hammock spot ever. One of several geodesic domes. This one is the greenhouse in the veggie garden.

My 10 year old son and I stayed a night here with our dog on a redwoods road trip. He says the night at this cabin was the best part of a weeklong road trip. We loved everything about this spot. The river was beautiful and Liza was so nice. Everything about this place was perfect for us. Very dog friendly.

Quiet and out of the way! Host was awesome. Very dog friendly. Dog were allowed off the leash to play in the creek. If you go in the summer time bring some battery powered fans and lots of mosquito spray. Wish I could have stayed longer.

My partner and stayed in the guesthouse in July 2018. It was easily the most comfortable, serene, and inviting space we stayed in on our drive from SF to Vancouver. Johan was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Having meals and coffee overlooking the Creek was amazing.

Ivy Guesthouse compound was beautiful outdoors and inside. What’s not to like about responsive and gracious hosts, beautiful creek, swimming hole, tree house, lush garden, porch with a view, great hiking nearby, and comfortable quiet quaint sleeping and eating spaces? Beautiful drive there, close enough to Ashland for our theater day/night adventure too.

I slept better in the ivy cabin than I usually do at home! I’m a light sleeper and wake up often during the night; it usually takes me some time to get used to a place before I can sleep well there. Not so here! The creek trickling and fire crackling lulled me off into dreamland.

My only complaint is that the current hosts didn’t know where the trailheads were, which I was hoping to check out and couldn’t find myself either. There wasn’t hot water for the shower - but I anticipated that, having come in November! Perhaps it would be a good idea to change the price for the season, or at least note that it will be cold, but I’m not really sure it matters! They clearly put a lot of effort and care into building the space; the entire property is a piece of art and the area is pretty magical. Very good energy :)

Our night at Eden & Levi's was certainly magic! The Ivy home is a perfect little place to warm up by a wood stove. The property itself is right off of a beautiful rushing lake, and filled with little surprises and nooks to sit and enjoy the woods. We are already planning our next trip to return in warmer weather.

my partner and I rented out the cabin for a few days over Thanksgiving week and had the most relaxing experience. we loved how far away from town it was and being off grid. It rained the whole time which gave us permission to get cozy cooking on the wood stove, read a book and enjoy the soundtrack of rain. Our hosts we so helpful and welcoming and made us feel right at home. My dog loved swimming in the creek and hiking around the Applegate area. rain or shine this place is divine.
