Great little orchard tucked into town area of Grass Valley. It’s a nice lawn with a clean and well-kept composting toilet and communal fire pit. There are 2 sites (one has more shade and a wooden tent platform, the other is more sunny and in the grass). There was some highway noise - but we fell asleep fast. We felt super safe and welcome by the hosts and they gave us great recommendations for a day on the Yuba River (about 20min drive). There are hiking trails on the site and you can walk to a BLM trailhead. Overall, I would recommend this site and would stay again.
Peaceful little orchard
Texted Anthony right when we got there and he immediately came to meet us at the gate. Showed us to our site and got us oriented, very friendly. Campsite was very nice and peaceful, you could barely even tell you were right on the edge of town with a road running behind you. Little pears just beginning to grow on the fruit trees. Fun little backwoods nature trail too. We took our two little children and they had a great time. The site was very child friendly. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time camping here! It’s only a 20 minute drive to hike and swim in the Yuba river, and there are also trails directly behind the campsite to wander around on. The town is also so cute and Nevada City is a short drive too. Highly recommend exploring these old gold mining towns as well as the beautiful hiking spots. The campsite was exactly what we needed, peaceful, with a common campfire that was great, and a great compostable toilet. Pretty idyllic to have the farm animals right next door, too.
We had a wonderful time here.
The property itself is beautiful, Anthony & co were welcoming and friendly, and you're only a 10 minute walk from Grass Valley.
It's so nice, we found it hard to go exploring, and instead spent most of our time just lazing under the trees in the orchard!
