Camp on the moon!
This is a cute space for a nice relaxing night by the fire. The host set up a tent and provides a sleeping cousin for two, some blankets, and tables for a homey feel. This campsite is next to the host’s beautiful garden and backs up to tons of sand stone “moon rocks” to explore and climb. A path leads you from the tent past a potable water spigot and a bigger communal fire pit then up into the rocks. The host also has chairs placed within the rocks at easy spots with good views. These rocks are so interesting to explore and examine, and this is one of the only places in the area where you can actually touch, climb, and physically learn about these rocks. Not only is the geology cool, but the view from up there was amazing. Depending on the time and day you will get an endless ocean or a layer of clouds reaching up through the trees but never making it to you. This is an awesome spot to unwind and feel secluded up in the mountains.
A weekend escape
The Honeymoon Suite was just the most perfect getaway! The tent is roomy and cozy with the perfect fire pit and area to relax and feel secluded. Angela and her husband are extremely helpful if you need anything while also leaving you to enjoy your time away in the woods.
The hike up to watch the sun set was magical as it lifts you up over the trees and into the quiet. The chickens wandering into your camp is adorable!
I would highly recommend this if you’re looking for a place to tuck yourself away for a day or 2.
It was nice.
It was peaceful, family was super nice and welcoming. We did end up getting yelled at by a neighbor for having a fire late at night and she supposedly “called the sheriff”. Wasn’t clear on the fire rules in Santa Cruz, maybe a good idea to educate yourselves on the fire safety’s laws before staying.
