Alpine Valley is set in a 10,000 acre valley at approximately 5,500 feet. Towering on three of the four sides of the Valley are mountainous peaks.

The private and secluded Camp sits at the edge of a meadow on 40 acres, offering multiple sites for camping, fire pits and seasonal creeks available for one camping party's exclusive use.

Follow the lower creek out into the meadow and Valley floor and find a damned swimming hole. ORV, hiking, fishing, water sports, golf, skeet, and the like are available at or near the Camp.

Alpine Valley Campsite is a short distance to Reno, Truckee, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs, and Lake Tahoe. It is located approx. 4.5 miles from Stampede Reservoir, 5.4 miles from the Truckee River in Verdi, and 17 miles from the Boca Reservoir and Truckee River in Truckee.

Host highly recommends 4x4/AWD vehicle, confidence driving on dirt and rocky roads, and moderate to expert camping level. Detailed Welcome Letter with local destinations, GPS coordinates, Valley map, and map links provided upon booking.

Nightly rate is for up to two campers.  If you'd like to collect wood from the property, simply purchase a bundle of wood when completing your booking.

Amazing views! With ~45 minute bumpy drive from Verdi - you will find yourself descending in to one of the most scenic and peaceful valleys in the area.

David, our host, was extremely helpful with directions and confidence our vehicles would be able to make the haul.

I cannot stress enough, a 4x4 is NEEDED for this camp - may even recommend you want/need a lift kit on your vehicle for some parts of the ascent in to the private parcel of land. Once there - you will find pull-offs and private camp spots lined along a peaceful stream.

With the lack of accessible camping around the Tahoe area - this adventure was a welcomed one. If we are back in the area, and if our rigs can still handle the route - we will definitely be back!

This site was super private which is exactly what we wanted, however the road to get there was kind of intense. We did it in a Rav 4, but I'd recommend something that's a bit better at crawling through what is essentially a small dry creek. Lots of rocks and uneven ground so it helps to have a very high vehicle.

Other than that, all good.

Loved the camp site specially how remote And necessary it is to have high clearance vehicle. However, we brought our dog and child with us and had to remove broken glass.

Nice fire rings and plenty of firewood on the ground!

If you’re looking for total privacy and a very quiet and relaxing spot this place is awesome. We drive a stock Subaru Outback and access the place easily.

Really beautiful spot.

Beautiful site, nestled in the pine trees with a creek running close to the fire pits. Great site to get close to nature and relax with the family.

Like others have said, you really need 4WD to get to this site, but David’s provided directions were accurate and helpful. The “road” up the hill to further campsites was a little overgrown, making it difficult to discern that a road was even there. But worked out well because there were plenty of people out and about the day we arrived, and the overgrowth helped maintain the privacy of the sites. The meadow down below was beautiful and our pups had a lot of fun stretching their legs down there. Overall, we really enjoyed seclusion of camping here and we’ll definitely be back.

Site was great! Definitely recommend awd vehicle with more clearance than a normal sedan with awd! Few spots where we should have had more clearance driving in.

The road going in is rough and the journey is long if youre going in and out everyday. If youre there and want to ride around and see didferst things, its perfect!
It is secluded and you definitely need a 4x4 with clearance. Normal 4x4 is good, but a car or suv, I would not attempt.
Its beautiful, quite and secluded. No one bothered us at all

The drive and site were beautiful. The road is a little rough but part of the fun. Saw other people out there so it wasn’t quite as isolated as we wanted. We were disappointed there was no water on the property but within an hour to the Truckee River. Don’t bother paying for the bundle of firewood.
