This camp was amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were welcomed by some long time friends. Melodee showed us around the property and we were able to assist with feeding the animals and introducing ourselves to everyone. The whole trip was an interactive experience, but when we needed time alone, it was private. The deck was a wonderful space to set up the camp and all of the accessories were charming. How can you complain about homemade goat milk soap? Melodee had great recommendations for areas to visit and things to do. We ended up driving out to Nevada City and the Yuba River and it was only about a half hour drive. There were plenty of activities to do on the homestead if you prefer to stay local. We decided to indulge in the breakfast Saturday morning and it was wonderful. You can really tell that Melodee loves cooking for people and she puts a lot of love in her food. Everything was made from scratch or local. All of her dishes are from yard sales around the area, so they have this wonderful charm to them. We also had s'mores with the family in the afternoon and ended up staying up late chatting. They were great company, from the four year old ambassador/chicken-wrangler to friendly dogs that could never get enough pets. I am so incredibly glad that we decided to try out this Hipcamp and I hope we can come back sometime soon!
