Come over and learn the life we experience transitioning from busy Silicon Valley life where we moved from 4 years ago to the life homesteading and teaching our children how to work their land.  I have been a back to the basic gal since i was a small child making homemade whip cream and butter with a jar and marbles, always baking from scratch loving the life of hard work and making use of what we have.  We are a homestead in process and can't wait to share with you all how if we can do this so can you.  Even if you have a small area of land to large amount of grazing acreage life can be brought back to the days of 49ers learning to look for your gold wherever you land.

Experience gold country by pitching a tent on our homestead. We are conveniently located off Hwy 49 in the middle of Gold Country with it's rich history. We are just a hop, skip and jump from Empire State Mines where you can experience and learn about the Gold Rush - even take a mine cart ride down into the mine shaft, We are close to Yuba River, voted one of America's top 10 most beautiful rivers. There are many river side swimming areas and gold panning locations. Visit a local u-pick berry farm. End your day exploring by heading to the old historical towns of Grass Valley, Nevada City or Auburn. Don't forget to stop at Lazy Dog Chocolateria. Come for the Fall and go to Apple Hill for all the 7 farms of activities for harvest time or come to Bishops Pumpkin Farm corn maze and pumpkin patch with homemade apple slushies, come during xmas season for the Nevada County Victorian Xmas festival or Grass Valley Cornish Xmas.

Camp among the natural oaks, awaken to the sound of chickens and our friendly goats. Each campsite includes: picnic table, lantern hook, area to set up tents, garbage can, jug of fresh drinking water. Enjoy a hot shower before bed under the starts.  When you arrive there will be a welcome basket at your site with an information booklet and local recommendations.

Amenities: wonderful hot outdoor shower under the sky with view of the fruit trees and add on claw foot porcelain hot bath heated by coals under the grape vines and stars!

Complimentary coffee/tea every morning with all the fixings and mint or cucumber infused water available all day with our welcome board.  Don't forget to write in our adventure book all your experiences!

Add-ons during your stay, please inquire at the time of booking such as Farm to Fork Homemade scones, fruit, and farm-fresh hard boiled eggs, oats with fixings, 49er style breakfast cast iron biscuits with gravy or local honey and farm fresh jams made by little ole me!  For exercise add on a canoe ride in the local private lake community with a local restaurant and bar you can canoe to and we will provide the fishing poles for ya, or take a hike with our goat Sadie Pepper she will take you site seeing!

Laughter yoga class - every Saturday morning! Start your day off energized and with a heart full of joy. Donation-based.

Campers are welcome to participate in our daily farm chores, which consist of: feeding and caring for our chickens, goats, and horses. Help us brush the horses, take the goats for a walk, garden harvesting, berry picking and anything else we have going on.

Canning, fermenting veggies, ice-cream making, private dinner on your deck as an add on  workshops available throughout the year. Ask at the time of booking!

This camp was amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were welcomed by some long time friends. Melodee showed us around the property and we were able to assist with feeding the animals and introducing ourselves to everyone. The whole trip was an interactive experience, but when we needed time alone, it was private. The deck was a wonderful space to set up the camp and all of the accessories were charming. How can you complain about homemade goat milk soap? Melodee had great recommendations for areas to visit and things to do. We ended up driving out to Nevada City and the Yuba River and it was only about a half hour drive. There were plenty of activities to do on the homestead if you prefer to stay local. We decided to indulge in the breakfast Saturday morning and it was wonderful. You can really tell that Melodee loves cooking for people and she puts a lot of love in her food. Everything was made from scratch or local. All of her dishes are from yard sales around the area, so they have this wonderful charm to them. We also had s'mores with the family in the afternoon and ended up staying up late chatting. They were great company, from the four year old ambassador/chicken-wrangler to friendly dogs that could never get enough pets. I am so incredibly glad that we decided to try out this Hipcamp and I hope we can come back sometime soon!
