Welcome to Wandering Hoof Ranch! Located in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Camp amongst the trees and fields at Wandering Hoof Ranch. Bring your own tents and enjoy 10 beautiful acres. You’ll have access to our field beside our Scottish Highland cattle fold and chickens! Aside from the incredible views, our biggest attraction is the highland cattle, which graze the fields or relax in the shade. The cows are friendly and have no issues with having their photos taken. The chickens too, will peck around your feet and aren’t the slightest bit bothered with you making yourself a home in their domain. Enjoy stunning views of the Beaufort Mountain Range while you camp. The sunset views here are absolutely breathtaking. Amenities include a toilet and potable water. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Highland beef steaks, half a dozen eggs, firewood, breakfast and a seasonal garden box are all available to purchase! Please see the extras below for more information and add them to your reservation at the time of booking. Port Alberni is a unique and friendly enclave where you can experience an engaging blend of outdoor and indoor activities and attractions. The city, and surrounding valley, enjoy a moderate climate and are well-known for their breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by mountains, freshwater lakes and streams, the area is wildly popular for its salmon sport-fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, windsurfing, boating, waterskiing/wakeboarding, hiking, mountain biking, ATV'ing, golfing and wildlife viewing.

      Wandering Hoof Ranch
      Great farm stay, ideal tent camp
      Beautiful location, super friendly host, and the added benefit of farm animals (which our son loved). Plenty of level ground for tents, parking very close to the site and fresh spring water makes this a very convenient camp site. It’s tricky to find as there is no sign on the main road which distinguishes Wandering Hoof Ranch from the many similar properties on the road. Make sure to inquire with host about St #, as this isn’t provided when you book. Would recommend this camp site to anyone.

      Wandering Hoof Ranch
      We camped in a working field, so had to dodge some cow pies, but the space was beautiful and private. Our camp companions were the adorable Highlander cows and a coop full of chickens. The farm was pretty close access to town as well. I would definitely recommend getting the garden box add in - it was delicious!

      Everything was great! Steaks were good, area was beautiful, and all the animals were friendly. The chickens do love to start their mornings early, but that was no bother to us at all. Thanks for everything!

      Wandering Hoof Ranch
      Had an amazing stay at the wandering hoof ranch! The property is so beautiful and very spacious. My friends and I felt very welcomed by Diana and her family. Response time was very quick anytime we had any questions. Would definitely stay here again!
