El Pais Motel & Campgrounds

This mother-daughter owned and operated camp is a really interesting find in Tucson. They bought up an old mid century motel and speckled it with vintage RVs which are available for rent. There are a few spots available to bring your own RV, each complete with your own fire pit (and wood) and outdoor furniture. My RV spot was next to the chickens whose eggs are free if you get up early enough to snag them. There’s a really cool pool during the day and they play movies on the big screen at night. I saw people doing laundry and there are bathrooms and showers for us dry campers which is really nice. Free coffee in the morning. It’s gated and secure at night. The people here are just delightful. While it wasn’t as private as I expected, I really enjoyed stopping over here for a night. I’d definitely go back if I was passing through Tucson again and Toni is so kind and helpful - a perfect match for her business. Really wish her much success.

What a great desert stopover. Toni is so great, welcoming and curating a unique location for travelers. The space is fun and has what you need, a fun clubhouse with games, bathrooms, showers, and great wifi!

Toni was an amazing host and maintained mask wearing, which we really appreciated during covid. The place is such a find- totally vintage and unique.

It’s boy near any restaurants or even coffee shops, though- so stop for supplies before checking in.

Toni and her daughter were fantastic. Very welcoming and really care about your comfort. The set up is AMAZING and so much fun. We saw it and instantly booked and were NOT disappointed with it in person. Definitely one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. They have motor lodge rooms, airstreams or a place for you to park your own van/camper (which is what we did) cute outdoor space, bar, bathroom and shower for those not staying in the rooms. I will recommend this place to everyone I know!!

Consider yourself lucky to be staying at the creation of two beautiful minds. Toni was a fabulous host. I hope I am coming through town again and get to stay.

We loved this place. The host was super accommodating and helpful and we really enjoyed camping here. We highly recommend a stay a El Pais.

The only reason I hesitate to give this place the best review possible is that I don’t want it to be filled up next time I come through. Toni and Jade were fantastic, welcoming, friendly hosts who really meant it when they said to feel at home. The place is magic and all the people I was in town to visit wanted to hang out here instead of anywhere else. I give it all the stars.

Relaxed vibe on the property, people were friendly but respectful of COVID safety protocols. Recommend and would return!
