If you want a true high desert wilderness experience, this is the place for you. 40 acres of undeveloped ranch land nuzzled between state and national land. There is nothing there except for concrete fire ring and an amazing view of the stars.

This was definitely remote and wild! It was so nice to be fully immersed in this gorgeous landscape. We saw no other people the whole time, just tons of wildlife and a surprising variety of plant life. There was a nice fire pit with pre-chopped wood and also an unlimited supply of juniper (which makes the *best* campfire smells) so we hung around the fire a lot. There are a lot of game trails to explore and plenty to do in general vicinity (Lyman Lake, Painted Desert, Pie Town, Hubbell Trading Post, Zuni Reservation, etc...) so this could serve as a good basecamp to explore from. Joshua's directions are spot on, but if you miscalculate your mileage (like we did) he is on-hand to set you straight!
