The Sage Yurt is one of our front country yurts at the Arizona Nordic Village. Please note that this yurt is small and best accommodates up to two people; any more and you better be very close friends or family! We are a cross country ski, snowshoe, and fatbiking area in the winter, and in the summer our trails are open to hiking, biking, and horseback riding. We operate under a special use permit from the Coconino National Forest, and the trails on site connect to a vast network of trails across the National Forest. The yurt is situated in a stand of ponderosa pine trees at 8,000 ft of elevation. We have four cabins and three yurts in the front country, and five back country yurts that require a hike or bike in.

I arrived late at night and left before sunrise but the yurt offered a great cozy spot to rest my head for the night. Even amongst the darkness of night and snow blizzard, the directions were easy to follow and the yurt was stocked with good dry wood and fire starters. Made it easy to stay warm and settle in for the night. Can’t wait to get back and explore the property a bit more.
We had a great time and staff made sure we had everything we needed. Mind you this was during CV19 which we would have understood if no one was on site. But Evan and his staff made sure we had all needs. Also was really easy to communicate with staff.
Plan on returning!

I stayed here one night it was a great place to stay. The Yurt was clean and pretty well insulated for a cool summer night. I’d definitely come here again during the winter season to make full use of the wood burning stove inside the yurt.
This place is absolutely amazing. So clean everywhere without taking from the natural surroundings. I love reading the journal in the Yurt and watching the rain hit the skylight. Bathrooms were immaculate! Even the other campers were great.

Yurt was clean, cool and perfect for the second leg of my bday journey. The stove was great to combat the chilly night. The bathroom facilities were great as well. My pup and I had a great trail run and can’t wait to come back and stay in the backcountry! Evan was a great host!
The place is awesome! The staff was super friendly and the location was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful location with wonderful trails weaving through a ponderosa pine forest. The trails are well maintained and perfect for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The listing is accurate, and the yurt is cozy. The wood stove heats the yurt very effectively, and it's lovely to have a cracking fire in the yurt when it's cold out. The only downside was that the stove gradually seeped smoke into the interior of the yurt, even with the stove door closed. Both I and my guests in 2 other yurts experienced this, and after sleeping a few hours with the wood burning in the stove, we experienced coughing and eye/nose irritation. It's possible that not all the stoves have this issue, and it's possible that the smoke may bother some guests more that others. Overall, we had a beautiful stay, but we decided to leave early because of the smoke.
Loved our stay. We will definitely be going back. The staff at the lodge were friendly and helpful.
