You'll be welcomed to Amazing Sunsets with a "moo" from the dozen or so cows roaming the area with their calves. The property lies on BLM land with curious cattle ranging freely - they came over to the site upon our arrival to see who the newcomers were. Amazing Sunsets is set up for groups, so while it is pretty remote and far away from hiking or other outdoor activities, it would be a great place to celebrate with a group. There is a stage, wooden bars, and fire pits scattered throughout the property. While we didn't meet Rob, we met Fred ("Derf spelled backwards" - his words, not mine), a 76 year old with a long white beard and blue truck, who lives in a neighboring trailer. The site is remote - there is no electricity or plumbing - but provides a quiet, quirky place to sleep for the night. And we actually preferred the sunrise to the sunset, when the mountain range to the west lit up rouge with the rising sun.

Tips: It would be best to stay here from late fall to spring when the desert is a bit more green. The dead grass had quite a few prickers that liked to stick into our sandaled feet.

You only share your space here with others if you want to - no strangers tents to contend with. Your only neighbors are a few trailers (but they're far enough away you can't hear anyone) and the free range cattle. We set up camp on the stage since it was only us. It was a great flat space with a view of the stars. One of the many options for tent set up at Amazing Sunsets.Fire pits are scattered throughout the property so if you want to come with a group, multiple bonfires can be going at once (just make sure the red flag isn't flying).
