Narrow Canyon Orchards is definitely an exclusive harmonious place for people who love to visit desert canyon oases. It is also a great place for people who just need to get away from all the technology and bustle of today, you can definitely find some relaxation at our farm. Besides enjoying the view of the Orchards, spring stream, and sandstone buttes, guests will also get to experience a place few visitors of the Navajo Nation get to visit. Our spring-fed pond and cattail reed filled water way is a great place to pull up a chair, relax, and possibly read a book. At night, our guests will get to either enjoy a dark star filled night sky or see the canyon walls lit up by some intrinsic moonlight, granted the weather permits, which it usually does. If you would like to see a diverse and rich rock seeping spring botanical area, then the Box Canyon Guided Hike in the morning, at guests choosing of time and distance, will be mesmerizing at the least. But if you all have to get on the road early, the hike is optional. And if you choose to book our farm, only you and your family, friends, or acquaintances will have the whole farm to camp at,, meaning only you and the people you are with will get to enjoy each other’s company at such a beautiful canyon desert oasis (The farm can comfortably hold up to 16 guests camping in their own tents). This is a PRIMITIVE campsite, meaning there are no metal fire rings, picnic tables, or provided bedding. However there are rock lined fire rings and FIRES ARE ALLOWED. There is quite a bit of small stickers right now at the farm, so make sure to wear some shoes or boots when exploring the farm. To make it to the farm/camping site, you will have to meet up with us at two predetermined locations and have a vehicle with a ground clearance of at least 8 inches or more. One of the meet up locations will be the parking lot at the Navajo Welcome Center in Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah area. (The farm is 17 miles from this location, 5.7 miles of the trip is on a dirt road, which usually has washboards on it and a few rocky spot). The other meet up location is the Burger King parking lot in Kayenta, Arizona. (The farm is 18 miles from this location, 5.7 miles of the trip is on a dirt road, which usually has washboards on it and a few rocky spots). Once you are at one of the meet up locations, just keep an eye out for our gold 2010 Toyota RAV4 that has a narrow black Yakima Box on top of the passenger side at the meet up spots (we’ve included this info in the booking instructions). Once we meet up, guests can follow us to their exclusive camping destination at Narrow Canyon Orchards Campsite. Meeting with us is required because other families in the area might become upset if non-Navajo people are driving all over the place trying to find our farm. So to respect their space and to make sure our guests are not lost trying to find our farm, it’s best we meet up. We do not provide any bedding, but we do have an extra 2 person tent and some extra blankets and pillows that could be rented for $5 if you don’t have a tent of your own. We will also have a couple of hammocks available for anyone interested in sleeping in them or wanting to lay down and just relax in them.

Narrow Canyon Orchards Campsite
The place is wonderful. Quiet, secluded, and beautiful. Our hosts were kind and knowledgeable of the area. We tried to drive our car with a 5.5 in. ground clearance into camp. I wouldn't recommend that. Make sure to follow their suggested 8 in. for the drive on the long dirt/sand road into the camp. The place has no facilities really, of any kind. Keep that in mind when planning this as part of your trip. For our 1-night trip though, it was fantastic.

Narrow Canyon Orchards Campsite
The most unique camping experience!
Wow! So much to say about our time here. Celeste and Elijah were so welcoming and we had such a wonderful experience during our stay. They generously met us in Kayenta and we followed their car down a dirt road to their land tucked into the canyon. It was about 5 unpaved miles once we turned off the main road. We took it slow through the trickier sections and our car did just fine. Celeste and Elijah showed us around the property and let us know the rules and gave us more info about her family's land. The orchard is beautiful with red sandstone buttes surrounding it. We pitched our tent near the spring stream and fell asleep to the sound of the trickling water. In the morning they graciously took us on a hike through Box Canyon. I definitely recommend doing this as you get to see more of the diverse landscape with a beautiful view at the top overlooking the canyon and beyond. We brought our dogs with us and they had so much fun running through the paths and climbing on the rocks. As a reminder this is a PRIMITIVE site, just as stated in the description. There are no facilities and you must bring water (or purify from the pond) and pack out any trash. Personally we enjoy this type of camping most as you feel more connected to the land. We are already looking forward to our next stay here and spending time with Celeste and Elijah. I highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Monument Valley, passing through, or as its own destination point. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!
