Places to see near La Hacienda Chuparosa
The ranch is a great place to camp. It's in a quiet spot in the back of the ranch near the horses. Julie and Mark were great hosts - helpful with advice of things to do in the area and responsive to questions. The spot is a bit outside of the city, and close to the mountains - a perfect spot.
Loved my stay with Julie & Mark. They were both so welcoming and had a lovely space set up for tent camping next to some of the horses. I really enjoyed my time here. I look forward to coming back :)

Claudia was AMAZING. She was a delight to get to know her and it was our pleasure to have her here. We look forward to hosting her again at La Hacienda Chuparosa.
Julie and Mark were great hosts. This was my first time trying hip camp and exceeded expectations. Had great views and enabled a real camping experience with a few extra comforts

Shane and his friend were awesome guests. They explored Tucson for a couple of days. We were grateful they chose to stay at La Hacienda Chuparosa. They are welcome back any time.
We had a lovely time staying at La Hacienda Chuparosa! Our hosts, Julie + Mark, communicated with us beforehand and helped us in planning our stay in the area. There are so many wonderful hiking spots just right outside of this camp!!! There is something here for everyone. It's also very nice that amenities such as wifi and hot showers are available. We were provided with plenty of Mesquite firewood for our bonfire, it definitely kept us warm as we came to camp in January (nights can be chilly!) :)
This time of year is perfect for hiking or cycling, it's not too hot and not too cold and the landscape is lush and full of life. Getting to camp was easy, it's not far off into the woods and you don't need any off-road vehicle to get here- bonus! Sunset and sunrise was absolutely breathtaking, turning the mountains in the distant colors of pinks and purples. What I love about the campsite is the cool little gravel area Mark built for campers to place their tents!
FEILD NOTES
-Sounds: Ravens + Doves fill the air with song. At night, we heard the lovely yips of coyotes in the distant. You can hear the low rumble of cars echoing through the woods, but it isn't very loud. The horses are fairly quiet and we barely heard them during our stay.
-Smells: Fresh air, mesquite wood burning on the fire
-Firepit has a cooking grate that you can set up to cook food or place a kettle to heat water over coals
-Easy to find
-Wifi + Plug in outlets
-Hot shower + indoor plumbing
-Hosts are happy to give suggestions to guests to help plan fun things to do in the area based on your interests

Thank you, Katie. It was a pleasure to host you and we love your photos!
Julie and Mark were great hosts and the camping area was great. There being only one private campsite on the property and being adjacent to horses was pretty cool. Beautiful location next to a wash and with a view of the mountains. Also great to have a nice bathroom, wifi, and firewood provided. A step up from your typical campsite. Finally, Julie and Mark were very accommodating. We had a small campervan that they allowed us to park by the campsite and my wife had a job interview that she needed to do just after checkout time that they allowed us to take in our van over the fast WiFi.

We loved having Eric and his wife here. And we hope the wifi was helpful in getting a great new job! We hope to see you again on another camping adventure.
This the first time for us camping, we really enjoyed it. The hosts Mark and Julie are very kind people. Highly recommended.
