If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Like the description, very basic. Bring a shovel. No services and not really any sites to speak of. Just pull in, stop, and you’re camping.
Directions need a little clarification. Just drive onto dirt road when you hit the tee on South side of highway.
Quite and starkly beautiful
Kimberly responded very quickly. Last minute late at night she was kind, helpful and extremely patient with visitors to the area! Extremely quite the area is starkly beautiful! The night sky, even with US 40, was breathtaking!
Straightforward and easy to get to. The instructions had a couple typos but we figured it out. My only concern was that there were a lot of very prickly tumbleweeds and my poor pup had a rough go trying to find a safe place to pee. Everywhere is also dusty right now, so just be prepared for that. Otherwise, easy to find, easy to set up, and beautiful skies.
Great convenient stop!
Awesome spot! Super convenient off the 40, makes for a great quick stop for the night. The host was SUPER helpful and even went out of his way to bring us firewood. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
The host was very pleasant & responsive, and we were delighted to discover they’d left a fire pit with wood & fire starter stick. Following Google led us to the wrong side of the sites but the host was very responsive with more helpful directions. The roads from the highway to the site were fairly rutted & would be tricky to navigate after dark without a four wheel drive. The sites are between the train tracks & highway - you could hear both but they were pretty distant. All in all, a great bang for your buck & conveniently located, especially if you’re headed to/from Petrified Forest NP.
