Surrounded by volcanic cinder cones, with views of the San Francisco Peaks to the west and the Painted Desert to the east. 1.8 million acres of National Forest and hundreds of miles of dirt roads to explore right on your doorstep. Come and enjoy the 360 degree views in this secluded yet accessible spot, in the high-desert just half an hour from Flagstaff.

Tents, vans, smaller RVs all welcome. Hot shower and pit toilet available.

In the middle of the San Francisco volcanic field at 5700 feet elevation, your own high-desert hideaway. Juniper trees and rabbit brush, hummingbirds and hawks, pronghorn antelope and deer. Huge skies, amazing sunrises and sunsets, and dark star-studded nights. A world away, yet only a short drive to Flagstaff and surrounding attractions.

The National Forest is just a short walk away, as well as hundreds of acres of State Trust land. Climb some volcano craters, hike through juniper forests and across fields of black volcanic ash. A short drive west will take you into tall pine forests, or head in the opposite direction where the wide open spaces of the desert await.

The property is located on a dirt road, just under 2 miles from paved Leupp Rd. The road is bumpy but accessible in any regular car, motorcycle, van or small RV.

We are just a few miles from the Navajo reservation, including the awesome Grand Falls.

James Turrell's forthcoming land art project, "Roden Crater" is a short distance away and visible from the hill adjacent to the property. Although not yet opened to the public, should you be interested, I can show you how to get as close as possible without trespassing on private land.

I live on the property and am easy to find should you have any questions, need advice or recommendations about the local area etc. I can show you some cool off the beaten path spots, nice hikes/drives in the immediate vicinity and further afield. It's up to you how sociable or unsociable you want to be! I'm happy to have a chat but otherwise you'll hardly know I'm here.

Although this is a remote area, there are still neighbors around. Please respect their space and privacy and keep noise to a minimum. This is a place to enjoy nature, awesome views and peacefulness, not a spot for parties.

Cellphone reception is spotty out here. Verizon works best but can still be hit and miss.

Sebastien was an excellent host and his sites (there are two) were both well taken care of and made us feel at home. The shower and outhouse were both very clean and nice to have. The stars were so amazing that most of my group slept decided to ditch our tents and sleep outside!

The stay was great. Quite. Open space kids loved it. Check out the nearby Craters.
Sebastien the host has a great set up, it’s all very clean, he’s very friendly. Cares about the site and his Campers a lot.
Prepare for wind if that’s what the forecast calls for.

We found the location very easily through google maps as recommended! Pretty much just follow the road back to the big crater and you’ll find them! We had some fun on the roads on our trips out and back!

The hosts were incredibly generous and gave us some milk and apples! We were so gracious as were on a long road trip and the fresh goods of ours were running out.

The space was incredibly well thought out and kept up! Beautifully designed outdoor shower and restroom that were clean and truly enjoyable to use.

Our camp site was so incredibly peaceful with beautiful views of the craters and snow capped mountains in the distance. Very close to a lot of outdoor adventure which we were happy to have time to experience a little of!

We highly recommend this site!

Sites were exactly as described, even better. The outhouse and shower were very clean and much nicer than expected. The area is secluded but only a 30 minute drive out of town. Plenty of space for our group of 8 and 4 dogs. Had to go into town to buy a smaller tent because the original one was too tall and the area gets pretty windy during the spring days. Not a lot of shade but the weather during May is perfect. Sebastien came and met everybody with his dog, who was very friendly. Overall highly recommended.
